2020.07.19 05:32 asapsim First Build for Fortnite, Minecraft, and GTA (I literally know nothing plzplzplz helpplz help)

for my bro bro that doesn’t have reddit
I literally don’t know shit and don’t have anything lol
What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
Gaming PC only mainly Fortnite so FPS is critical, then GTA and Craft too but outside of that I won’t be streaming or anything so that’s it. If COD is good this winter I’ll play that too.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
I’d like to be around $1,500 but max max all in $2,000.
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
I’d like to buy the first week of August ideally. Girlfriend is getting a puppy so I get this lol
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
Literally everything except a mouse lmao. I’d like a 240hz monitor as well and I know those are not cheap lol. I have a router modem combo that is right by my desk so idk if I need WiFi but if I do then fuck it I need that too
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
I live in Arizona, USA near Scottsdale so not sure what a micro center is??
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
Literally nothing. I mean I have a 144 hz monitor I use for my PS4 that I could use but I’d prefer 240 to match the power of the PC.
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
Not a damn clue what overclocking is lmao
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
Nahhhh just want the max frames I can get for Fort and I don’t really need speed for Craft or GTA so that’s really it.
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
Nothing specific but my desk is like a black glass so I mean as long as it looks dope with that lol and my chair is like black and white. Big fan of purple
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?
Not sure... I guess fuck it why not just the basic will do I won’t be doing any crazy editing or anything but might mess around with it
Extra info or particulars:
I’d like to connect directly to the router modem combo for faster connection. I’d also like to get a consistent 240 FPS on fort. I really don’t know what I need so I’d say that I need literally everything lol

Fortune's robust capabilities will be an asset for the Company's A88CBD™ product line; and that the Company expects the partnership with C.A. Fortune to open up new retail opportunities for the Company.
The material assumptions supporting these forward-looking statements include, among others, that the demand for the Company's products will continue to significantly grow; that the past production capacity of the Company's co-packing facilities can be maintained or increased; that there will be increased production capacity through implementation of new production facilities, new co-packers and new technology; that there will be an increase in number of products available for sale to retailers and consumers; that there will be an expansion in geographical areas by national retailers carrying the Company's products; that there will be an expansion into new national and regional grocery retailers; that there will be an expansion into new e-commerce, home delivery, convenience, and healthy food channels; that there will not be interruptions on production of the Company's products; that there will not be a recall of products due to unintended contamination or other adverse events relating to the Company's products; and that the Company will be able to obtain additional capital to meet the Company's growing demand and satisfy the capital expenditure requirements needed to increase production and support sales activity. 2020.07.07 10:06 RobtheChamp25 Did you hate studying as a kid to any extent? How did it affect you throughout your childhood and early adult years while in college? Long Post FYI

As someone that is about to graduate university (finally) in a month I had a pretty rough school experience and for the most part was an easy target for kids. I admit that for part of middle school I was a bully to an extent as well but for the most ended that when I got to 8th grade. As much as I hate to admit it now all I wanted to do was play video games which was my primary activity after school on Fridays and Saturdays lol. Throughout school I had a difficult time making friends and would often be seen talking to myself or very few kids and apparently wanted to hang around black kids a lot when I was in 7th grade. Throughout middle school peers and classmates would often remind me that I was retarted or a moron which did not help my self esteem or confidence. I got into sports in 7th grade but still had a rough experience due missing equipment that year but by the time 8th grade rolled around I was very excited as I had no issues with my locker or equipment. By this point I knew to never even bother doing anything that would get me in trouble seeing that in 6th grade I received a ticket and had to do community service the following summer and I did start making friends that I would sit with at lunch and talk about our similar interests which were primarily sports and video games lol. I was still a very strange kid back then that did not like to read except for sports when I started reading about the cowboys on their team website. My dad of course would complain about me watching tv as a kid and often take away my video games. I was an average student for the most part and the school district that I was in from 3rd to 8th grade included the Accelerated reading program which all in all I hated reading like many students I had class with. A lot of classmates loved to target me for whatever reason and it got to the point to where I eventually just ignored them and walked around pissed off. My closest friends at the time loved to remind me of what a moron I was due to my parents hiring a tutor to help with homework, me bored of some of my classes (which I didn't realize at the time and didn't realize at all until my 20s), and struggles with reading even though I was reading at a higher level then some of them. My parents and I moved to Arizona, Scottsdale to be exact though I hate saying that seeing as to what has happened over the last 15 years or so. I stuck with football and gave up choir( what I did in middle school) for a few reasons including poor treatment when I was younger and being a fat kid that couldn't defend himself for shit lol. It was rough for the time being as I wasn't good and apparently felt a lot of pressure since everyone called me Texas. I made sure to stay on top of my classes at first but had a rough time due to sports and classmates constantly telling me that the material wasn't that difficult for them which eventually made me very jealous and irritated. I still couldn't stand it whenever I made a mistake seeing that my parents would try to go over material with me and I would get mad if I got an answer wrong. I was still pissed off most of the time but eventually other football players had to make life hell by reminding me that I sucked and was a pussy that couldn't stick up for himself. My dad was teaching math at the time and became at my school which overall I feel did not help matters seeing that I was in summer school for math and players would call me out saying my dad taught the course. Back to freshman year I was still a quite kid who did not have much to say except seek entertainment from my main friend at the time lol ( he was in special education). I mention this because whenever I mentioned that I needed to study for my math class he'd blurt out I made an A in algebra and I did not know what to say at the time. I kept my interests to sports and games seeing that my friends from Texas were into it as I was and they loved to tell me how much of a moron I was so I did not want to take the chance of doing anything that would allow them to humiliate me. Still in high school I had plenty of classmates that did not care for their studies and struggled to have any confidence. There were a couple of girls that I had interactions but at the time I feel that I was too shy, nervous, etc.. to really do anything in person. Summer school rolls around and football classes overall sucked seeing that I had a difficult time finding kids to train with and classes were compiled of kids who were primarily into drugs and partying which made me pretty jealous. Overall my parents didn't push me nor put enough pressure on me to remain focused on my assignments and feel confident. Sophomore year rolls around and struggled in some classes due to low self-esteem and becoming apathetic about school seeing that I had some trouble with assignments and players/classmates continued to push me around and ask me to do things that would risk me getting into trouble. One of my classmates was very stuck up and lied about everything that he said, he made the choice to be an underachiever and when I told him that I was going to do homework he asked me why I do it. At the end of sophomore year my dad lashed out at me saying that I couldn't even figure out some geometry material and bashed me for school and shit which set the tone for my mood the rest of that day. By the end of sophomore year I attempted to stand up for myself more often by cussing other kids out and they did not respond. Still though I had a few people say things like where would you be without me in an attempt to make me feel stupid. After sophomore year, my parents and I moved back to east Texas where we lived before I started high school. I was overall pretty excited seeing that I thought I would be able to see my friends again from before. Unfortunately I couldn't drive at the time still and lived 45 minutes away. The school was easier than the AZ high school but it did not help my confidence much nor my self esteem as I was still playing football (which I somewhat regret doing) and sucked so I was often in a quiet mood. I often told myself that I was retarted and a bitch-ass seeing that I got punched and had my lip busted junior year. I finally got xbox live and became close with certain kids that I had become acquainted with in AZ before I left, I would game on the weekends with them and just focus on school during the week. Senior year rolls around and by the final semester I felt like shit almost everyday seeing that I sucked at sports and was afraid to do anything seeing that people constantly told me that they were only joking, made me feel like shit and never apologized for how they treated me it discouraged me from being more active in class and being friendly towards others. My dad was not much help seeing that I apparently still expected everything to be perfect which I was like wtf. He eventually felt that a trade would be better suited for me but I feel like I did not want to admit that I regretted ever getting close to my gamer friends seeing that they distracted and hit my ego and shit. When football was over I developed enough ptsd to always be thinking about whether or not I would be physically beaten down or anything and that had a major impact on me in early to mid-20s. At the end of my 1st year of college I intended on moving back to Tyler, TX (where we lived before) to transfer to university after the trade and get a degree so that I would feel better about not taking so long to get into school and maybe have a group of friends that I would like hanging out with. Unfortunately with the trade (which was diesel technology btw) I was the first one to drop seeing that the professor could tell that I really did not want to do it. I was nervous to admit this to my parents and while they were not happy I made sure to return to school the next semester with a degree change and work which I eventually did. I was still in the mindset of proving to friends that I was a good person and loyal friend but eventually there was a lot of drama over xbox live within our group. I could not stand hearing friends lecture me on how they could barely study and still make A's. In addition, I knew that I was fortunate at a young age but outside of sports and such I could never comfortably say that I did something because I liked it (my mother is a doctor and gave me the impression that she hated it for years when I was a kid), one person at my job was apparently suspicious of me as to my personality and such. Eventually he came to terms that I was a really nice guy and wanted to hook me up with a girl. Up to this point people had brought up my parents having money and handing shit to me which I eventually could not stand and lost confidence in myself because of it. Summer 2012 my sister bitched saying that I should leave East Texas and I feel like she tried to deter me from my path, she asked me why I didn't get a job at the gym that I trained at for which I applied the previous fall and I said it just did not workout as someone else got it. My mother eventually blurted out that I had overslept and missed my interview putting me on the spot. Eventually summer school rolls around and while I started strong I couldn't stand being honest with my friends and have them call me lucky and shit because of my parents support. I resent them for a lot of things and while in school the military had contacted me about joining and tried to make me feel guilty for not paying for school myself. This along with an ex coming back into my life ( not that it was much of a relationship since we dated for just a month and she became pregnant a year later) made me frustrated seeing that it was apparently all my fault that shit was what it was. I got into mma as well and summer school still did not go as well as planned. It really pissed me off that I had to sit there and admit that I wasn't even paying rent or for food nor working that many hours. I eventually came up with the goal of completing my associates degree and then working while training mma but summer 2013 rolled around and did not go as planned. I still could not stand seeing kids that I went to high school with going out and partying almost every weekend and being in relationships and being close to graduation. I was still living at home and had the idea of trying to do everything myself so that people couldn't say that I had things handed to me. My knees were started to get messed up and deep down all I really wanted to do was focus on mma but felt that I might as well get my associates (I somewhat regret it seeing that my GPA was really low), unfortunately I did not finish until a year later and when my dad decided to be a prick and tell me that now you see what happens when you dedicate yourself I replied saying most people were able to pass classes without much trouble. I was still pissed off most of the time seeing that I was living with my dad and started to regret my degree choice of kinesiology and felt that what really pushed me into martial arts was how poorly treated I was in sports before and wanted to stick it to everyone (though that was never going to happen). My parents and I were not on good terms and when I turned 24 my dad decided to confront me and guilt me stating that I never asked for his help or anything when it came to homework and eventually stated that I had everything handed to me(while we somewhat resolved this a year and a half later I still felt resentment and shit). Deep down I still wanted to fight at the time but due to me being a poor athlete and wear and tear I knew it was not going to happen (I'll add that I never cared for Brazilian jiu jitsu as a hobby) and decided to return to school. For university I had the desire of attending Southern Methodist University which was a private university in the Highland Park area. I felt that it was the only place that would make sense for me to go to after what my dad said and the fact that my parents saved money for me to attend college. I went back to a junior college to bring up my GPA and my dad eventually blurted out that it was the 1st time I have ever worked hard in my life which I felt was total bullshit. I eventually told him that I did diesel technology but he tried to point out that it was only because I did not know what I wanted. I told him that I wanted to sell the land we had because he said he would leave the family if it happened. In addition, I found my mother to be a hypocrite and someone to not look up to since she claimed that commuter schools like UNT and SFA were good and all but since they saved money I couldn't live with the idea of going there. I did well at school and brought up my grades a lot though it was not enough. I was very strict and careful about asking my dad for help because I did not want to live with the idea that he was just handing me the answers. While I did better he eventually decided to guilt me by saying that he could've finished repairing his trailer on the property but chose not to for me. With university I still wear a mask so that people are not aware of my personal business as I creates massive triggers for me and has left me unhappy. My dad will still lecture me on how I didn't study before and even my mother will assume that I'm stressed out and shit. I will never consider them heroes or look at them in a bright light seeing that they wanted to do what they did when I was a kid and make me feel like shit. They tell me that I'm ok and all but it will never mean anything to me after what happened. All in all did you like studying subjects like algebra, english, and science and were able to focus on them without classmates getting in your way? Thank you for reading my story.

TL; DR
As a young kid in elementary and middle school I overall hated studying like most kids presumably and was never better than average if I am being honest. It was slightly better in High school but not by much and I still struggled with self esteem issues and such because of it. I feel that my ego was too big at the time but most kids are like that and couldn't stand the way I was treated but eventually my dad had the idea that a trade would be better suited for me. That did not happen and deep down I wanted to prove to friends that I could handle their bs and couldn't get over the bullshit from high school of not accepting people's offers to hang out or party or anything. My dad likes to remind me that I didn't study or study enough when I was younger so I have had to play catch up since then. While knowing that I was fortunate I regret being friends with a lot of people that I was before and have since cut them out of my life. I was also irritated with still living at home and having to depend on parents for some finances. I work but not a lot and still struggle with confidence as I feel a bit too pissed off when I talk to people since I feel like I have graduated years ago and want to stick it to mom and dad. Were you all into studying enough or hated it and how has it affected you in terms of relationships with family and friends, and yourself?

The Horrific Abuse & Murder Of Child Actress Judith Barsi, Who Is Best Remembered As Ducky In

Judith poses for a TV Guide promo for an ABC Afterschool Special in 1988.
Judith Eva Barsi was an American child actress whose career was prevalent in the 1980s. She appeared in numerous commercials, TV shows, and movies. Judith is known for notable roles such as Thea Brody in Jaws: The Revenge, young Carol Seaver in Growing Pains, Ducky in The Land Before Time, and Anne-Marie in All Dogs Go To Heaven (she provided her voice for the latter two). Despite an overwhelming and successful career by the time she was 10-years-old, Judith's private life was not a happy one, and it was cut short by her own father, József.

Early life and family

Judith was born in Los Angeles, California on June 6, 1978, to parents József Barsi and Maria Virovacz. Both of them had escaped their home country of Hungary after the 1956 revolution, though they did not encounter each other until several years later. Eerily enough, they both had neglectful and abusive childhoods.
József's first marriage was to a woman named Klara; they had met on a train while immigrating to France. They were quickly married and had two children, Barna (b. 1957) and Ági (b. 1958). The family moved to New York in the early 1960s, where József began to drink and abuse his family physically, emotionally, and verbally. In 1968, Klara and the children fled to Arizona but József followed them in an attempt to reconcile. Their relationship began to improve and Klara was delighted to see that her husband had stopped drinking. He found work as a plumber, earning the nickname "Arizona Joe." The happiness was short-lived. No more than a year later, József threw a cast-iron skillet at Klara. She filed for divorce, leaving her husband for good. When Ági was 15-years-old she vowed never to speak to her father again and encouraged her older brother to do the same.

Not much is known about Maria's journey from Hungary to the United States. Like József, she also had a previous marriage. Their paths crossed in 1976. Both were living in California; József was working odd contracting jobs while Maria was a waitress at a local café that was popular for immigrants. József would apparently flash $100 bills and pay for all his buddies' drinks. This got Maria's attention and the pair began to see each other regularly. They were married in August 1977 and Maria became pregnant soon after. It was her first child and József's third. At the time of Judith's birth, her parents were 38 and 45 respectively.

Maria quit her job to become a stay-at-home mother while József struggled with employment. The family lived in a small apartment on welfare. Maria told her brother, Joseph Weldon, that she saw a future for Judith as an actress in Hollywood. Like other people, he told her that she was wasting her time. "You don't know the odds," Weldon said. "The odds are 10,000 to 1." But Maria was sure of it. In 1983, she and Judith, now 5, were at an ice-skating rink. Coincidentally, a film crew was there preparing to shoot a commercial. A casting agent noticed Judith skating and, mistaking her for a 3-year-old due to her size, approached Maria with an acting opportunity. That same year, Judith did her very first commercial for Donald Duck Orange Juice. She was signed on to Harry Gold & Associates Talent Agency after just one meeting.

A promising career; the abuse begins

Judith Barsi's rise to fame grew through her appearances in various commercials. She worked with famous brands like Campbell's Tomato Soup, Jif Peanut Butter, and McDonald's. Her breakthrough came in 1984, playing Kimberly McDonald in the television miniseries Fatal Vision. Based on a true story, the plot revolved around a man killing his pregnant wife and two children. This role would foreshadow Judith's own fate.
After Fatal Vision, dozens of opportunities poured in for the young actress. She appeared in small roles on shows like Remington Steele, Knots Landing, and The Fall Guy. She even co-starred with Oscar-nominee Melinda Dillon on an episode of The Twilight Zone.
As his daughter became more successful, József Barsi felt pressured to pull his own weight around. Still unable to find a secure job, he turned to alcohol again. In just one year, he was arrested on three different occasions for DUI. He instigated arguments with Maria, turning violent within the blink of an eye. When he wasn't verbally abusing his wife, he was striking her across the face or attempting to choke her. It's fair to say that Judith probably witnessed most of this, but she always maintained her composure on set and her behavior gave no indication that something was going on at home.
Like most abused children, Judith kept quiet about her home life. She and mother Maria were usually always seen together.
By 1986, she was making an estimated $100,000 a year from commercials and television reruns. Thanks to this, the family was able to purchase a three-bedroom house in Canoga Park, a neighborhood located in the San Fernando Valley. The first thing "Arizona Joe" did was have a spiked fence placed around the property.
Despite a turnaround in their lifestyle, József still wasn't pleased. An unnamed neighbor later speculated that "good ole 'Arizona Joe' was jealous [of his own kid]." It was a plausible theory; Judith was making more money than both of her parents, and she hadn't escaped another country due to an uprising--perhaps József saw her as "ungrateful" and deemed that she had it easy compared to him. Another neighbor recalls an incident where Judith was playing in the yard and Maria came home with a toy kite. Before Judith could play with it, József snatched it out of her hands. "You're going to break it!" Judith cried. Her father scoffed and looked at Maria. "You see that? She's a spoiled brat who doesn't want to share!" He then proceeded to smash the kite into tiny pieces.
That same year, Judith was approached by Don Bluth for a role in what would later be known as The Land Before Time. After auditioning, she was asked if she'd like to play Ducky. "Yep! Yep! Yep!" Judith chimed. Bluth would later incorporate this into her character, which became a fan-favorite quote. Judith also had guest-starring roles in Punky Brewster and Cheers. Her career was taking off at a faster pace and Maria was able to befriend and bond with other stage moms. Meanwhile, things weren't faring any better at home. József had extended the cruelty of his abuse solely towards Judith. During a house party one evening, he followed her into the kitchen and yanked her ponytail, causing Judith to hit the floor; he didn't like all of the attention she was receiving from guests. As an apology, he went out shopping the next day and bought her a pink television set for her room.
Another haunting role was Judith's portrayal of an abused child on an episode of Cagney & Lacey. Still, she did not inform any adults of the real-life abuse she was experiencing. When her daughter wasn't at school or an acting gig, Maria took every opportunity she could to get Judith out of the house. They would go to restaurants or visit family friends. Judith spoke fluent Hungarian and would communicate in the language with her mother when they went to public places, so nobody could figure out what they were saying.
Judith smiles with her birthday cake.
On June 10, 1986, Judith celebrated her 8th birthday at a bowling alley with friends from her elementary school. József was absent and Maria allegedly told another parent, in passing, that her husband was "stuck at home, getting drunk." He often showed her where he kept a can of gasoline and threatened to burn down the house if she or Judith tried to leave.
The abuse was getting worse. Judith told her friend Trixie that her father had thrown pots and pans at her in a drunken rage, resulting in a bloody nose. A few days before Christmas, Maria Barsi filed a police report, stating that József had attempted to strangle her after threatening her life. Reportedly, the officers saw "no absolute signs of physical abuse" and Maria reluctantly decided not to press charges.
As 1987 approached, Judith landed her first theatrical role in Jaws: The Revenge. The part required her and Maria to fly out to the Bahamas. József found out about this and came into Judith's room one evening while she was packing her suitcase. He took a kitchen knife and held it against the 8-year-old girl's neck. "If you and your mother don't come back after the shooting, I'm gonna cut your throat," he growled. When they arrived at the island to start filming, Maria told anyone who would listen about her fears for Judith's safety. "She was just constantly crying out," studio teacher Linda Stone-Elster recalled. "Almost to the point where nobody took her seriously. It was like, 'Oh, here goes Maria again.' Just worried about going home to this crazy person."
Although the film was panned by critics, Judith's role as Thea Brody is remembered fondly. She even wore her own swimsuits for the beach scenes.
When filming wrapped up, Maria and Judith purchased plane tickets to New York to visit Maria's brother. Judith and her cousin were playing when the phone rang. It was József. After handing the phone to Judith, her father told her, "Remember what I said before you left." Judith dropped the phone and began to cry, running into another room. Maria took control of the situation and started to berate her husband. "I had never seen such a thing like that before," Joseph Weldon later remarked.
Unfortunately, the trip to New York was cut short and Maria returned to California with Judith in tow. Neighbors and friends urged her to leave József. One woman even offered her home as a temporary safe haven. Maria told different people different things. She would say that she was in the process of filing for a divorce, but, to others, she expressed reluctance to leave. "He'll find us," she told one of the neighbors. "Even if he doesn't, he'll burn down the house."
József Istvan \"Arizona Joe\" Barsi
József did many things to sabotage Maria's attempts to leave with Judith. He "accidentally" misplaced their passports and even went as far as hiding a telegram that informed Maria of a relative's death in Hungary.
In December 1987, while speaking on the phone to her niece, Eve Reitz, Maria mentioned that she suspected that József was having an affair, presumably showering another woman with expensive gifts. Reitz says that Maria didn't sound bothered; it was just another reason for her to look into a divorce lawyer. In fact, she told her niece that József cheating on her was probably "the best thing that has ever happened to [me]."

The haunting final months

9-year-old Judith was also starting to show severe signs of stress. She was gaining weight and had pulled out her eyelashes, as well as one of her cat's whiskers. There was also pressure for her to grow taller so she could prepare for older roles. Reportedly, there was an issue with her pituitary gland; puberty was delayed and Judith was "stuck" at the height of 3'8". Trips out of the house were no longer fun or entertaining. Instead, Maria was taking her to receive hormone injections at UCLA.
In spite of things, Judith got to play the young version of Carol Seaver on Growing Pains. It was a dream come true because she was a huge fan of the show. While on set, she spent time with cast member Tracey Gold, who viewed Judith as a little sister. Gold herself learned of the abuse through Maria and offered them help. Maria declined.
Judith poses with her castmates on set.
A few months later, Maria Barsi began renting an apartment in Panorama City as a daytime haven for her and her daughter. Judith's career continued without issues and she landed the role of Anne-Marie in another Don Bluth production called All Dogs Go To Heaven. But when it came time for her to sing "Soon You'll Come Home," the small child broke down into tears, telling her agent, Ruth Hansen, about everything that was happening at home. Disturbed by this incident and fearing for the child's well-being, Hansen ordered Maria to go to a child psychiatrist in Encino. After one session, the doctor reported Judith to the authorities as an abused child and the Los Angeles Department of Child Protective Services got involved. Maria was questioned extensively, but it's unclear as to whether or not József Barsi himself was ever investigated.
On May 18, 1988, Judith was able to watch herself on television one last time. She played a dying patient, whose parents are going through a divorce, in the final season of St. Elsewhere.
As June rolled around, József reached out to his son Barna, who told Ági that their father was eager to see them and make amends. He invited the two down to Los Angeles, saying that he was remarried and mentioning that they had a half-sister named Judith. Barna, now 30-years-old, accepted the invitation but Ági was hesitant. She still didn't forgive her father, but she was curious about little Judith and wanted to meet her, as well as Maria. The older Barsi children arrived just in time to celebrate Judith's 10th birthday. While Barna spent every moment with his father and Maria, Ági got to know Judith. The little girl was delighted; she had never met her big sister before.
Judith plays with one of her cats while spending time with her older half-sister, Ági.
After a few days, Ági, like Barna, was ready to forgive their father for his past actions, but something about Judith's behavior made her hesitate. "That's when I looked at her, and I knew right then and there that something was going on," Ági Barsi recalls in her memoir. "I saw myself. We were the same person." Sickened by the realization that her younger sibling was also experiencing abuse, Ági pulled Maria aside and demanded to know what was going on. Maria admitted that József had a temper and that he sometimes got physical, but he wasn't drinking anymore. "I told her, 'Just take Judy and be safe.' But she had another plan," Ági said. "She let the house get so messy. I mean, it was disgusting. When I saw all the trash I said, 'Let's clean it up.' She was like, 'No, it's going to drive [József] out of the house if we don't clean it up.' So it was a pig's pen, a living pig's pen." Maria held on to the idea that she and Judith had worked too hard for the house and their prized possessions--if anyone was going to leave, regardless of a divorce, it was going to be József Barsi.
Maria allowed the house to become a filthy mess, thinking that József would flee given his obsessive cleanliness.
Barna and Ági were about to return home to Arizona when Judith approached them as they headed out the door. While Barna was loading things into the car, Judith told her sister, "Ági, take me with you. I'm scared that father is going to do something bad." Heartbroken and knowing the little girl's distress, Ági Barsi bent down and assured little Judy that things were going to be okay. "I told her that he had hurt [Barna and me] as children, but everything was alright in the end. It was only a temporary situation. I told her that she had to be strong, and I'll never forget the look in her eyes as we left."
At some point in early July, József followed Maria to the apartment in Panorama City. She was carrying boxes and when confronted, she told him that she was just helping a friend move in. Shortly thereafter, Maria told a friend that she was planning on cashing Judith's $12,000 tax refund check before her husband could get his hands on it. She was most likely (finally) getting ready to leave him and take Judith away once and for all; she had to make sure he would get little or none of their child's earnings until the divorce papers arrived.
Maria also notified CPS that she was divorcing József and that she'd be moving into the apartment with Judith. Believe it or not, the social worker took her word for it, and didn't even bother to visit the home. They closed Judith's case file the same day.

The double murder-suicide

On the morning of Monday, July 25, 1988, Judith Barsi was seen riding her bike around the neighborhood. That afternoon, she had an appointment with Hanna-Barbera Studios about a voiceover role in an upcoming animated series. For reasons unknown, Judith did not show up and Maria never called in to say why. It's speculated that a fight between József and Maria broke out and Judith was too upset to go. Another (less popular) theory is that József was holding them hostage or preventing them from leaving. No one ever saw the Barsi family alive and outside of their house after that day.
Here's where the case gets tricky because we'll never know for sure how the night played out. What we do know is that Judith put on her nightgown and went to bed. Maria did the same. József probably kept himself awake for several hours, contemplating on what to do next. The investigators believe he knew about Maria's plans to divorce him, and he'd most likely never see her or Judith again. Maybe she threatened him with a restraining order. Regardless of whether or not Maria fought back, József felt powerless or angry about something she had done or said. Something had to have been the last straw. Ági Barsi has her own theory. She believes that her father had "just finally snapped," citing his tormented, father-less Hungarian childhood as a reason for his mental demons.
Shortly around (or after) midnight, József retrieved his .32 caliber pistol and walked into his daughter's bedroom. She died instantly from a single shot to the head, above her right ear. Disturbingly enough, Judith was most likely awake when she was killed.
Hearing the shot, Maria ran out of her own bedroom and down the hall to confront her husband. She probably tried to fight for the gun (different sources cite that she had defensive wounds but this is unconfirmed). But Maria was overpowered, forced onto her knees, and shot in the head as well. Investigators agree that Judith was killed first because if József had gone after Maria before her, then the young child would've tried to hide or flee, thus her body would've been elsewhere in the house, other than her bed.
The Barsi residence where the double murder-suicide took place.
Ruth Hansen was informed that Judith had missed her appointment and called the Barsi residence around noon on July 26. She was surprised that József picked up the phone instead of Maria. She questioned him, to which the man replied with: "They went to San Diego. A black car took them away. I'm just here to get my things and say goodbye to my little girl." Confused, Hansen allegedly tried to call the residence again a few hours later, but her call was ignored.
At 8:30 a.m. on July 27, neighbor Eunice Daly went outside to water her garden. An explosion alerted her to the Barsi's home, where she saw smoke billowing out of the roof. Firefighters, paramedics, and police swarmed the neighborhood. After the flames were put out, three bodies remained inside the residence. Maria, aged 48, was found at the end of the hallway; Judith, aged 10, was in her canopy bed. It was noted that the cap to a can of gasoline was found just a few feet away from her body. Both mother and daughter had been burned beyond recognition. Going into the garage, firefighters discovered the body of József Barsi, aged 55, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
An investigator removes Judith's body from the home.
The medical examiner concluded that all three Barsi family members were deceased before the fire could really spread; none of their lungs showed signs of smoke inhalation. While there was confusion on which day Judith and Maria had been murdered (July 25 or 26), it was eventually confirmed that they had been dead for "more than 24 hours, but less than 48." Judith's death certificate lists her date of death as July 27, even though that was the day her body was discovered.

Aftermath and legacy

Fans donated money to make sure Judith and Maria received proper headstones.
Judith and Maria Barsi were buried next to each other and laid to rest in unmarked graves on August 8 in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In 2004, fans organized a donation campaign and the two were finally given their headstones. Growing Pains star Tracey Gold read the eulogy at the little girl's funeral. Judith's Jaws co-star and on-screen father, Lance Guest, was one of her pallbearers.
Judith loved voicing Ducky in The Land Before Time (1988).
Three of Judith's projects were released posthumously. The Land Before Time premiered in November 1988, becoming a well-loved memory to kids all around the world. It is perhaps Judith's most famous role in her short, but prolific, career. Oddly enough, most people learn about Judith's tragic fate when they have an innocent curiosity such as "What's Ducky's voice actress doing nowadays?"
Judith Barsi as Billie Foster in A Family Again (1988). It was her only television role to be released posthumously.
Judith had a supporting role in the ABC Afterschool Special episode "A Family Again," starring alongside Ricki Lake, Rhea Perlman, and Tonya Crowe. Ironically, along with the title, the episode dealt with grief and healing. The ending credits read: This film is dedicated to the loving memory of Judith Barsi.
Judith's final voiceover role was Anne-Marie in All Dogs Go To Heaven (1989).
Judith's final role was in All Dogs Go To Heaven, which wasn't released until 1989. She had completed all of her lines, but another actress had to be brought in for Anne-Marie's singing voice due to Judith's heartbreaking reluctance to perform such a heavy song. The film's ending song, "Love Survives," was dedicated to her. Judith's final lines in the film also feel like a punch to the stomach when you learn her story.
She is remembered greatly by Don Bluth, who had planned to feature her in more of his projects. As a way of coping with her death, Bluth and the animators based Anne-Marie's mannerisms on that of Judith's.
The Los Angeles Department of Child Protective Services was heavily criticized when news of their failure to ensure Judith's safety leaked to the press. In September 1988, the Department acknowledged its mistake, stating that caseworkers should be given assistance (Judith's social worker in particular already had 67 cases at the time, which was 27 more than a "full caseload"). As far as we know, they never issued an apology to the Barsi's surviving relatives.
Judith's half-brother, Barna Barsi, died in 1995 after falling off of a bridge in Scottsdale, Arizona. He had previously been dealing with alcoholism and was homeless at the time. It is unknown if the death was accidental or a suicide. Barna was 37-years-old.
Judith's half-sister, Ági, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997. She wrote two books, got married, and became a stepmother. Despite only knowing Judith for a short time, she loved her dearly and wishes she had done more. Ági passed away in 2008, aged 50.

Buck: Welcome back to the show everyone. Today my guest on Wealth Formula Podcast, well he is very well known to our group. He is my CPA Tom Wheelwright. He is also you know I guess qualifies a celebrity CPA. I mean tax-free wealth, you know Rich Dad Advisor to Robert Kiyosaki, just a guy who can really explain the stuff and who knows a lot better than anybody else and we've had some changes recently so we got him back on because these are incredibly important issues. Tom, again, welcome back.
Tom: Hey thanks for having me Buck. Always good to be with your group. You know a number of members of your group are clients of ours and so we love your members. We love the people who are watching you and love what you're doing in the financial education area.
Buck: Yeah and I should point out you know from the standpoint of this particular podcast, Tom is also doing this as a video as well. So what we'll do is we'll post the video, I mean you can always see it on YouTube as well if you're following us there, but we'll put it on the website as well, but if you're listening in the car like I know a lot of you do though, you know you can go back and watch this as well. But Tom, so you know you did a webinar literally just a couple weeks ago for us that was really helpful on the latest tax legislation. And then just like that we already have some significant changes, you know some very much for the better. Do you want to give us an update on that?
Tom: I do and that's you know why we decided to do this of course is that the big changes, there were two big changes. The primary change is this, our favorite program right now is the PPP loan right and then we had one other change that I want to get to but let's talk about the PPP loan changes first.
Buck: Well before you actually talk about the changes can you just give it two minute you know summary of what this PPP is
Tom: Sure so it's called the Paycheck Protection Program and it's a loan that small businesses under that normally under 500 employees although there are exceptions to that rule normally under 500 employees can get a loan of up to ten million dollars through the SBA from their bank that is backed by the SBA so it's a bank loan serviced by your bank it is backed by the SBA okay and the qualifications as you know but they're really simple pretty much a pulse right everybody qualifies even though the SBA threatened people and Treasury threatened people which is probably when the worst policy comments I've seen in recent years. The reality is that the law is very clear that there's no requirement frankly there's no requirement. Now what the Treasury said was is that look if you can get capital other places, you shouldn't be availing yourself of these loans. So for a small business that a true small business that's everything. Okay second of all there's a requirement for how you use the loan and you can really only use it for three things: you can use it for payroll, you can use it for and payroll includes things like contributions to 401k plans for your employees and includes things like health insurance okay so that's payroll. Then it also includes rent and mortgage interest and includes utilities. Okay, so those are pretty much the three things. What the original cares Act said was look, you have eight weeks from the time you use the loan so you had eight weeks and the eight-week roll was from the time you received the money until you use the money. Okay, you had eight weeks to use money that the challenge, of course, is that there are a whole slew of businesses that weren't able to use the money either because the government wasn't allowing them to open or because they couldn't hire employees because the employees would rather be on unemployment because the unemployment was so good. So then Congress came back and said okay what we'll do is instead of eight weeks we'll make it 24 weeks, and 24 weeks is significant because the reality is that if the amount of the loan was based on two and a half months of average payroll well so two and a half months that's approximately ten or eleven weeks and you've got 24 weeks to use it, you've pretty much got to be just about out of business to not be able to use this so you're really probably going to be able to use all of it and not have to pay any of it back, however, there were a couple of other changes. One of the curious rules that the SBA came out with was this so-called 75/25 rule and in the 75/25 rule, the SBA said you have to use at 75% for payroll and you can only use 25% of it for utilities rent and mortgage that was the original. Well, it's actually not the original. In the original bill, there was no mention of how it was supposed to be used except for those three things. There was no 75/25 rule that this came in a regulation from the Small Business Administration. So then what Congress did this time is they said well we're going to change that and we're gonna make it sixty-forty all right we're gonna make it 60/40 so 60% has to be used for payroll. One of the concerns with the way this new law was written, this revised law, it was a revision pretty much just revised as of the effective date of the cares Act right. So one of the curious parts of this is it appears in the law to be a cliff rule meaning if you don't use at least 60% of it well you don't get it at all. Treasury and SBA have since come out and said no we're gonna issue new regulations and the intent is it's the 60/40 rule will apply just the way the 75/25 rule so just be it, is just a proportionate reduction it wouldn't be an entire disallowance right so I mean basically you know if you went off of that if you weren't exactly at 60% maybe you used you know 50% then you just have a new baseline right for forgiveness right so so if you use 50% you know if it was you know 50/50 then you know you might lose something you're gonna lose some percentage of the forgiveness. Now the other thing they did though is they extended the deferral. So you know if you do have any that you haven't used up, you've got under the original rule you had six months before you had to start paying. Under this rule you have ten months, however you don't have to start repaying it until your 24 weeks is up okay and so 24 weeks, by the way, it's the earlier of 24 weeks or December 31st so I don't know why that would even be in there because yeah because you have to get reasonably you you really have to get this loan by the end of June you know the good news is there's still money out there in fact they're talking about repurposing it and so because of that I mean there's like a hundred billion dollars still sitting out there so if you have not gotten this loan now here's something I'd really like to emphasize Buck: I have had people tell me, clients tell me, oh I'm not sure I could take this money you know are they gonna come after me and we're talking about like even a couple hundred thousand should I should I give it back and I'm going you know what here's the here's the challenge and this is the challenge I had with all policy in the first place right where we're gonna put you in prison if you you know if you if you really didn't need it. That first of all if you're under two million that's absolutely not gonna happen it appears and they're not even gonna question it, they're not gonna audit it and second of all even if you're over two million dollars look they would have to prove that you had easy access to capital otherwise other than here and how do we even know yet. You know the challenge is we're seeing like I mean Arizona we're seeing that we're seeing more cases of Covid 19 than we did when when we before when we were shut down so we're actually having this huge influx our hospitals are concerned about being out of beds okay, so this is you know we don't know what's going to happen you saw in the market today you saw this huge drop in the stock market why do you see that huge stock drop in the stock market because there's this resurgence of Covid 19 cases and they're very concerned that you know businesses are gonna have to close down again where even if the government doesn't shut them down the reality is if this thing gets really bad, worse than it is now, then you're gonna see just people hesitant to go out. I know my wife and I are as an example we're high at risk and so we're very hesitant to go, we would never go out to dinner in a restaurant ever right now. So you know you're gonna see some challenges and so that's why I say anytime you can get cash and have cash if you want to pay this back a year from now pay it back that's fine you don't want forgiveness you say you know what I don't need forgiveness I'm not gonna take that government money have it available, it's like having a line of credit I mean why would you not want to line credit which actually brings me that I want to talk if we can Buck, we have time and we like to talk about the two other loan packages that are available. Well you know once we get through the PPP here because this idea of I don't need the money because my business is doing well is premature, it's completely premature. We don't know what's going to happen yep who think the world already fell apart I don't think we even seen that the surface scratched on how the world's gonna fall apart, I really don't because between the protests the looting the violence you know all of what's going on in in the world particularly in the United States, I think we're going to have some severe distress in the third and fourth quarter of this year. So can we can we go to one more piece
Buck: Yeah no rush at all yeah absolutely.
Tom: So this is the big one right, this is why they did it. But there's another one that people don't really know about
Buck: Wait, before you leave, are you leaving the PPP now? Because I have a question on that.
Tom: Go ahead:
Buck: There was one part that I know got a lot of people in social media we're talking about which I'm wondering if has changed its the deductibility of payroll.
Tom: Oh yeah so that is not changed yet so but let me explain why it probably will change
Buck: Maybe explain what I’m talking about first.
Tom: I'm always saying Congress giveth and the IRS taketh away right and that's pretty much what we have going on here. What happened was in the cares Act the forgiveness so forgiveness of a debt would normally be taxable income right, all income’s taxable unless the government says it isn't. Well the government in this case said it isn't. Here's a specific example where the government in the law and the legislation said the forgiveness of this loan you get a two million dollar loan, that two million dollars is not taxable. The IRS in its infinite wisdom decided that if this is not taxable then that means that the payroll the utilities and the interest that allow it to be forgivable are not deductible. Now of course if you can't deduct the expenses the net effect of that is making the income taxable right so it's eliminating the benefit of being non-taxable because you're not getting the deduction so what's the point. So in the Heroes Act which is the proposed legislation by the House of Representatives, in their legislation the next stimulus bill they proposed giving back that deductibility, okay, making it very specific. The reason the IRS didn't want to do that is because there's a lot of nontaxable income and the general rule is if you have an expense that creates non-taxable income you don't get to deduct the expense. Okay so that's a general rule they didn't want that they don't want they didn't want their application here kind of spoiling the whole basket.
Buck: Yeah I mean I know business owners who are holding onto their money because they don't want to be taxed
Tom: Right oh yeah of course because you're going wait a minute if I have to hold out 40 percent or 50 percent in California you're talking about 50 percent tax here so you don't really have a two million dollar loan you have a 1 million dollar loan.
Buck: Right
Tom: So because it's now the Senate Republican-controlled Senate has pretty much said yeah the heroes act is just a pipe dream however one of the things to notice in any I always read proposed legislation and the reason is that if there's something the proposed legislation that the other side wants, it's going to end up in the final legislation. And this is something the Republican Senate wants okay everybody wants this. The only reason I believe that it wasn't put in here into this revision was because it was already in the heroes act, okay so I expect fully expect that to come through. Mnuchin said today that we're gonna get at least a trillion dollars of stimulus in the next package which by the way has to happen by the end of June because of the unemployment running out. Okay the first part of July so you have to do this next stimulus package within the next several weeks otherwise frankly you've got social unrest that's fairly significant that could be the result of people not having money in their pocket alright if you can't eat what do you do, you go you get it somewhere yes look that's a real issue that the government is focused on so I expect that stimulus package to happen in the next several weeks. The taxability issue should be solved we don't know for sure but Treasury said it should they want it solved frankly they could solve it themselves but yeah you know they want to solve the reason they want Congress to solve it again it's because they're worried to face all but then it will apply to a lot of other things besides just the PPP. Now any other questions on PPP?
Buck: No I think that's good let's move on.
Tom: So there's another piece that nobody's talked about in this particular legislation this was the correction to the PPP. Some of you might recall that in the original Kerr's act you could defer 50% of the employment taxes from payroll which is basically the employer share okay you could defer paying that over until the end of the year, okay unless you had a PPP loan. What this legislation did was eliminate that requirement. So you can have a PPP loan and still defer your payroll taxes. So again I would urge people think about your cash position right business is all about cash flow and think about your cash position and you're not paying interest you're not paying penalties. Now will I set that money aside? Absolutely I would only use it if I absolutely had to because I know that I'm going to us on December 31st. Okay but let's for sure make sure that whatever cash we can set aside we set aside so this is a actually significant benefit if you have lots of employees because you're talking about basically seven and a half percent right of your payroll so if you only have a hundred thousand dollars a payroll you know twice a month right that's still half of that so it'd be seventy five hundred dollars a month and you times that by six or seven you know you're getting to do some money that you could.
Buck: But that's just a deferral
Tom: it's just a postponement it's just like it's like having a oh my hand it's the world's falling apart I need cash right, you know, I mean there's frankly there's other things I do first before using before using that money like I would be laying off employees frankly before I used that money but I want you to know it's there because that was a change in that law okay so there's a possibility. So two other loans that I think and your I know you're really familiar with at least one of them Buck, I think people should pay attention to and not discussed hardly discussed at all the first one is the EIDL Loan Economic Injury Disaster Loan okay now this is really interesting. I know a lot of people apply for a grant okay and the grant way the SBA administered that was $1,000 per employee but not not more than 10,000 okay that's how they applied that grant so if you had eight employees you got $8,000, if you had 80 employees you got $10,000. Right so that was that grant. Now that grant if you did not have a PPP loan it's just that it's a grant okay so you you don't have to worry about paying it back at all if you had a PPP loan that grant reduces the amount forgiven under the PPP it's still not you still don't have to pay it back under the EIDL Loan, you're paying it back now under the PPP loan. Okay I know that's confusing but that's why you sit down with your CPA and walk through these numbers with them, I mean the your CPA it's like your best friend right now CPA and banker, two best friends right now in the financial world. What I found and Buck I don't know if you want to speak to this, but what I what in what your experience is about people you talked to, but I'm finding that the if you apply for the grant, the SBA is routinely giving out the loans and they're offering loans and so you applied for the grant and not only did you get the grant but you're gonna get a loan.
Buck: Well you know it's interesting in our case and I don't know if you've noticed any of this Tom, my friends in California who have businesses are getting their EIDLs and in Illinois my business friends none of us have gotten their EIDL yet.
Tom: Interesting see because I've gotten the ones for my business yeah they're done be careful by the way anytime you sign a loan make sure you read the loan provisions there's actually one provision in this loan that I'm checking out and here's what it appears to say, all right I'm not a lawyer that's why I'm getting it checked out. What it appears to say is that if you had this loan and how you pay it back you have to apply to the SBA if you ever take money out of your company okay that you have to actually ask the SBA for permission to distribute money from your company. So that's a really onerous provision and frankly, if that's the way it ends up I'm gonna say no right to this loan because I'm not gonna ask the SBA every time I want to take money out of my own company.
Buck: Yeah that's crazy.
Tom: If it says it's just alone anyway way with money yeah okay not distributing this money And this does have very specific uses okay you do have to use it for damage caused by the pandemic okay you can't use it for anything right, but you can use it for PPE right I mean a lot of people are having to buy masks and stuff like that and you can use it for that. You can use it for equipment that you need to buy you know if you need to buy something for your office or you need to pay for somebody to come in and clean your office you can use it for that. So there's a lot of things you can use that for you just can't use it, you couldn't take this money than go invest in a real estate okay that's that you can't do. So that's actually a pretty big number because for a lot of small businesses you know what they looked at was under really a they'll give up to two million but in the law it's up to two hundred thousand there's really no checking anything other than are you are you a real business. So it's really a nice program if if you're okay with what belongs it's it's a thirty year loan at 3.75 and you've gotten to be deal of a year on it so it's a sweet loan.
Buck: I just wish I could get that.
Tom: It'll come Buck, it'll come. Okay the other loan it's called the Main Street funding okay it was originally intended and this is a loan not from the SBA not through the SBA but from the Federal Reserve it's actually backed by the Federal Reserve what's going to happen is this Federal Reserve has set aside six hundred billion dollars which is as much as they set aside as treasury set aside for the PPP okay, six hundred million dollars and what the fed’s gonna do is they're gonna go buy these loans from the bank so it's going to go on the Fed's balance sheet. So the fed’s taking all the risk which of course the Fed has no risk because it has no responsibility toward anybody to anybody right so it can just buy loans it's just printing money at that point right so it's just printing money. But it was originally intended for those businesses that did not qualify for the PPP loan however it has been expanded because nobody was taking it on. They were too worried about the restrictions so they're loosening restrictions, they're changing this program and this is some pretty serious funding and I would strongly suggest if you have any concerns about your cash flow that this is a loan you ought to be talking to your bank about. Should I be applying for this Main Street loan would I qualify for this mean street loan will you lend me the money. Now here's what I learned, I learned this the hard way mm a small local bank is always your best bet always. The big banks you know with a PPP loan they were like oh we'll take you with your Starbucks and then you know if your Starbucks then the SBA came and said no if your Starbucks you can't do this because you're a big company you know so it was bad with the big banks but the small local regional banks I know people that they got their PPP loans within a week in the very first week that the program was out there they got their loan.
Buck: What are the terms on that time Tom, the Main Street?
Tom: I don't know all the terms of it mmm I do suspect though that they're similar to the EIDL Loan. It's a little bit going to be dependent on the bank because they do have a little bit of risk where and the in that $200,000 I deal on the bank has zero risk they have about I think they have a risk of 5% on the Main Street so they have a little risk so you know the the interest rates aren't going to be necessarily the same all the time your terms aren't gonna be exact I think okay I don't know they keep changing the rules Buck and I'll tell you what, if you'd like once the rules are fixed, we can come back and have a whole discussion about the Main Street funding. My point about this fund is there's been a lot of disconnect with it, a lot of confusion there they're ironing it all out so it's really not done anywhere. So we have six hundred billion dollars sitting there. Well what I think is going to happen is that they're gonna get that ironed out and then there's gonna when we get this new push of the pandemic there's gonna be a rush for it. So you know as you know Buck, the old adage is the bank will only link only lend you money when you don't need it right, if you don't need it now’s the time to get it. Now's the time to get it. You have good credit still, your customers are still paying you or your tenants are still paying you whatever it is, now's the time to get this. This is not just for employees. So unlike the PPP loan that is specific for employees or the EIDL Loan that has really super restrictions this one I think they're gonna open it up to be a little broader in the usage though we don't know exactly what that is quite yet.
Buck: Got it. Anything else on the on the laws and the changes?
Tom: Well those are the three big loans got okay so we got the PPP the EIDL and the Main Street. Remember you still have the standard SBA loans okay so you can get a standard SBA loan a 7A loan, you can get an emergency what they call a small loan, SBA loan that's up to a million dollars that has a lot less restrictions on it you don't have to collateralize your housing or your mother okay that's actually a reasonable loan document that that million dollar loan. So there are lots of funding opportunities and I guess the the point here is is take advantage of the funding opportunities if you decide down the road a year from now you don't need it just pay it all back. I've not seen any provisions in any of these loans where there's a prepayment penalty. So take the money pay interest for a year or not depending on the deferral period and then you know if you don't need it then pay it back.
Buck: I want to shift gears just a little bit you know because you have in addition to all the knowledge on the tax side I mean your clients you have a really good on the ground perspective of what's going on with small business and when you look at you mentioned the stock market dipped a little bit but it also recovered about 40 percent since its March lows. What does the real world look like right now in terms of you know business people that you're talking to?
Tom: You know a lot of it depends on your industry and your location. So you know if you're on the East Coast you're probably struggling, right, East Coast particularly North East is you know they're still there reeling from 30,000 deaths in New York right that there they're reeling from that and so they're very, very cautious we have we have members of our CPA network in Connecticut New York and what they report is everybody wears a mask everybody does social distancing everybody's cautious, they're very, very careful. Contrast that with Arizona you go out for a walk and Scott in Scottsdale Arizona the bars are packed the restaurants are packed there's no social distancing and almost no masks okay, so you're taking your life in your hands but the businesses are open which is why we're seeing this huge influx of cases but I think that's what's going on. The other part of it is here's what's really interesting to me is I'm a member of a of a group of entrepreneurs that primarily they’re e-commerce entrepreneurs and they're reporting a booming business, I mean they've never made so much, you know from my friend Andy Tanner who sells stock market training to you know to my friends down in Austin who's still different kinds of e-commerce you know anything that's being sold on Amazon it's booming right so eCommerce is one of those areas, anytime we have a crisis like this and we have a shift in the economy we have to look at where is it shifting toward, right? I didn't tell you about I mean you were gracious enough to speak at our CPA conference just a week or two ago and we had twice as many people as we expected and a lot of that's because we were doing it virtually right. I'm finding on my own webinars that the attendance is double what it used to be. So I think that we're finding certain segments of the economy that are doing better and of course the bricks-and-mortar the other ones really struggling. It's really the bricks and mortar, let me give you an interesting example of a client that owns a microbrewery and in Georgia and Georgia course is one of the first ones to open right and but in April, Georgia was closed like everybody else. They did fine yeah and the reason they did is because one of their goals was to be able to sell it in bottles so they bottled it so all they did was they just stepped up their bottling whereas I know restaurant owners here in Phoenix, where they sold it on tap and that's what they sold. Well they were practically giving it away because they had so much beer that was just sitting there and you know beer goes flat you know that doesn't keep forever so they were really concerned about it whereas my client in the microbrewery because they've made that one little shift to be able to bottle it and they do their own bottling they were able to borrow it and they had a carry-out window and drive up carry out window and they were able to do that so you know those businesses that are adapting yeah it's just amazing how well they're doing.
Buck: Yeah you know it's funny it makes me think Tom to and from the standpoint of what I'm hearing about from investors and their how how things are performing for them I mean people who are invested in real estate in office and retail are getting killed even people who are doing class A or new construction multifamily are not doing nearly as well as like working-class, you know because working-class I mean should with the unemployment right now if they're unemployed they're making more money than they did when they were employed so you know so those assets seem to be performing really, really well oddly enough. So there is this kind of winners and losers scenario going on with this thing one last question for you though which is you know obviously you talk about how the IRS kind of its sticky hands and tries to get their piece and all of this. Do you foresee any additional legislation this year to potentially try to recover some of the Lost revenues from the more affluent for example you know stronger restrictions on perceived tax shelters you know like conservation easements and things like that, do you see crackdowns or do you see anything like that on the horizon? What do you think?
Tom: I think the crackdowns are going to come directly from the IRS. We're already seeing it. You know anybody who has a small captive got a nasty gram from the IRS in March just as the pandemic was hitting its stride, totally unethical letter but nevertheless because you're the IRS you can send out whatever you want and so you know we did see that and basically they said if you don’t give up your deduction your legitimate deduction we're going to come out at you and we're gonna basically 800-pound gorilla sitting on your head right so that was their message in that. We had a notice last fall that they were looking at auditing the owners of a conservation easement, the owners not that I mean that the the parking garden not that not the partnership which is where the valuation was done where everything came, but the actual partners in it who really had nothing to do with that valuation
Buck: How could they even do that?
Tom: Well I think I figured out where this notice, what they're thinking from the nose well it's speculation, but a speculation based on 40 years of experience right so my speculation is that they're concerned they don't know about them. So there's this form where you have to disclose this type of an investment that basically it has some tax shelter aspects to it called the form 8886 and there I think there quite concerned that a lot of people are not reporting on that form and if you don't use that form by the way you have huge penalties if they catch you right so you have to disclose this and I actually think that's what they were getting after with that letter from the IRS in March was look, you need to disclose this and if you don't disclose it we're gonna audit you okay because we want to make sure you've got it well there we know you have it if you've got an 8886 right so there's been no reason for them to audit you if they look at your 8886 and in the conservation easement and also your 8282 which is the charitable portion of that and they see that it's proper okay that may be the only audit you get and it may just be a correspondence on it you might just get a letter right so I think that the IRS is absolutely going to step up its its audits okay, it's got more money, you know is given more money a couple of times in the last couple of years it's gotten you know increases in funding and so I do think we're gonna see more examinations you know more aggressive behavior from that standpoint. But the reality is that you should never be taking a position that you're not comfortable defending. If your CPA is not comfortable defending you need a new CPA.
Buck: Yeah and that brings me ultimately to you know where we'll leave it which is listen folks there are lots of there's a lot of information here there's also lots of you know even what we're talking about with captives and some of these other things if you're in good hands I mean you can feel a lot more comfortable you know if your CPA is comfortable with things the end feels like you know you're not doing anything wrong, you can do more stuff than with somebody who's scared and just says I don't know what that is and you know you can't do that and you know all that stuff which everybody hears all the time. So I want to encourage people we have a lot of our listeners who are already working with CPAs in the Wealthability network which is Tom's Network again that's wealthability.com Tom anything else to add?
Tom: Yeah so we actually call this the sleep at night test. If you're not sleeping at night because of something to do with your taxes then please call us and whatever we can do for you even if it's not matching you up interest even if your situation doesn't call for what we're doing we'll still help you any way we can so we think this is the time to really be rendering service and really you know from an educational standpoint and anything we can do we would like to do that. But do make sure what I've learned number one thing I've learned out of this whole crisis is it's all about your team right as Kiyosaki is always saying business is a team sport, investing is a team sport and when you have a good team it's like you know whether it's investing in multifamily housing there are syndicators struggling right now because they didn't know what they were doing they didn't do a good job and they're gonna be struggling even more once that unemployment check goes away right so this is a time when having the right people on your team is probably more important than what you know is who you know.
Buck: That's right. Tom I want to thank you again for being on Wealth Formula Podcast as always it is a pleasure, my good friend Tom Wheelwright.
Tom: Always my pleasure. Thanks Buck.
Buck: We’ll be right back.

2020.06.02 16:47 ballyboi2002 How to start?

I'm trying to think of where to start explaining my entire story, living on Terra. Should I explain it like a history book and break down the world into sections? Or should I explain the world as I remember?
There is literally a lot of different ways I could explain things. From my initial post I got a lot of questions regarding my "shift" experience. I think it would be best to explain to new members of the subreddit and everyone what I consider a "shift".
For my entire life I have been experiencing a phenomenon that I like to call "shifting". To give some clarification let me explain the earliest "shift" that I can actually remember happening.
[Just for the sake of solidarity, I will place time stamps before certain events to give reference points. Years for the most part are as exact as I can remember, months and days listed are more or less best guesses. The closer the date to the current date, the more accurate the month and day labeled are represented. (I have a really good memory but it still takes some thinking to get the older dates down to the Tee)]
April 23, 1994
On Earth I was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. My parents had named me Zackary. My dad [Paul] was a police officer for the city, and my mom [Samantha] worked at target in the Pavillions. On top of that I have a twin brother named David.
Locally that morning the city of Scottsdale was holding what I remember some weird fishing competition at Chaparral lake. Just to explain how weird this is, the city had made these parks with man made lakes and golf courses on these old dried up river beds. If your from Arizona, you know what I'm talking about.
That morning, before the sun came up, my dad and brother went out to go find the perfect fishing spot. I guess this was all a way for my busy dad to finally get to spend time with his two sons. I just remember it was cold and the grass was still wet from dew. David kept complaining about how he was tired and cold too. I on the other hand just wanted to fish.
Now my life was completely normal for the mid 90's. My mom was caring and sweet and spoiled my brother and I. My dad was the man of men, proud, strict, but loving in his own way. My brother and I got along great together too (and we still are really close). It was a perfect life. I wasn't abused or beat or experienced any traumatic event in my life. It was just normal.
While we sat there waiting for fish to get caught, my brother got bored and tried to wander. I was even bored at just staring at the lake and the stupid red pokeball looking bobber. Then finally a fish got my line. I started reeling it in, my dad jumped behind me to help grab my pole to help me get the fish.
Krenden Junlg Frief Epohs 5 1014 agos [2nd month, 1st week, 8th day, 5th Era, 1014 year]
And just like that..... my father pushed on my shoulder to wake me up. It was dark and I just remember seeing a small glow in the distance of the room. In time my vision adjusted to see a man looking at me sternly. He had a plumper face, but a rigid stare. He had what I can explain a handle bar mustache the evolved into mutton chops, however they were finely groomed. Although he had a strict and almost mean presence to him, I felt warm and connected to him.
This man was my father, Zevla Ballicst. He worked as an occupied force for the sea bound trading of goods off the "Lieneson" a region / city the covered part of the eastern coast. However we didn't live directly in Lieneson. We lived in a small town just over the ridge of mountains called Cloive. To give some perspective on the two cities Cloive was about 20 or 30 miles away from Lieneson, so close but still far.
We lived in a small little wooded (almost log cabin like) house. There was an upper loft above the kitchens where my older brother (by 4 years) Jams, my younger brother Uslave (2 years younger) and I slept. Below the loft, like I said was the kitchen/eating area. Beyond the kitchen was the little space in front of the door, i guess like a mud room. Off the mud room there was a room to the right and a room to the left. The room on the right had a nice fancy bed that my "parents" used. On colder night my brothers and i would fight on who gets to sleep in that bed with father to keep us warmer at night. To the left of the mud room was a small place that had different stuff, like a small bookshelf with books, some garden tools, so drying herbs and flowers, just random stuff like that. Above that storage are was another loft. That's where my "mother" slept.
Now ok I say mother, but for years I've tried to come up with an Earth equivalent, and the closes thing...kinda.. would be a mid-wife. Let me explain. My "mother" was in a sort of "arranged marriage" with my father. The reason why my father needed an arranged marriage was because he claim the title of the Family name of Ballicst. In my cultures beliefs, Family names should be passed down one generation to the next, and producing "pure" offspring was essential for the survival of the family. Thus having the perfect bearer for your future of Family was upmost important. So my "mother" or "midwife" only purpose in life was to raise up the perfect children and have as many children as ny father wanted. Almost all times there is no emotional connection between the father and midwife. They serve the children and thats what keeps them together.
My mother or midwife was named Beev. She was kind to me, and spoiled me but often. For my brothers however, especially Jams, she would often scream at them, and even "put them in line" when she had to. But she thought I could do no wrong by her.
Now I had a third parental figure but its kinda hard to explain how that really worked on Earths term. But I guess you could explain it as my fathers "soul mate". So my father had to "arrange marriage" Beev, however he also "selective marriage" a young gal name Junile. She didn't actively live with us, but rather came for visits quite often and quite regularly. My father loved her to death. When she came to visit my father always spent all the time he could with her, and often disappear for hours at a time. Sometimes he just straight up ignored my brothers and i when she was with us. As for how I felt about her. She was kind at first, and on each visit she would give us special candy from the bigger cities. But she had a mean side to her as well. Often when she was busy "spending time" with my father, that could not be interrupted.
So I guess thats the basic layout of my family.

2020.05.24 00:29 stormy123456789 Exclusive: Yoga, plyometrics and vomit — Inside James Harden’s boot camp

nsisted they take a trip to the mountains even though Harden had just finished working out earlier.
Harden obliged but Polk didn’t expect him to go as hard as he was, considering the amount of work they had already done in the day. Two-a-days are generally reserved for football teams in training camps, not NBA superstars on a two-month hiatus.
“You know, it was kind of my idea to get him back on that mountain,” Polk told The Athletic, “Thinking that I would be able to kind of push him cause I do it all the time. And he came right back and hit the ground running.”
“‘I called Earl’ is what we like to call it,” Polk said, laughing as he recalled the experience. ” James was kind of pushing the tempo so hard that I had to take a little break and get that up [out] of me and then get back to it. We all got a pretty good laugh out of that.”
The real reason Harden should have been exhausted lay in Justin Allen’s hands.
Allen, a Houston-area athletic trainer, traveled to Phoenix via Harden’s request. The younger brother of NFL tight end Dwayne Allen, Justin always dreamed of playing football but decided to make the career pivot after a nasty hip injury he suffered at New Mexico State.
Despite his football and life hardships — growing up homeless and living in shelters at one point — Allen always wanted to make an impact on his community.
“I put my focus on my second dream,” Allen said. “My dream was always [to] create a gym and help give back to the youth, to the community. So that’s just what I did — started training and it just took off from there.”
Allen founded ALL-EN Sports Performance, a facility geared toward quality development and training for athletes or those interested in pushing their fitness goals. Over time, ALL-EN grew in popularity through word of mouth. It didn’t take long for Allen’s program to catch Harden’s attention.
“He reached out through a mutual friend and then his manager reached out to me,” Allen said. “[We] set up a training date, and we’ve gotten to work ever since then.”
Like every athlete during the coronavirus pandemic, Harden wanted to stay ready during this unplanned time off.
Even though his workload and usage during the regular season would warrant some time off, he understood the other side of the equation. The stoppage of basketball was so sudden that it was plausible to think that a good chunk of players wouldn’t be able to maintain the regimen they’re accustomed to by way of team trainers, but more importantly, team facilities.
“I’ve been doing a lot of cardio,” Harden said. “I’ve got treadmills in my houses, weights, and all that good stuff. It really hasn’t affected me like it’s affected a lot of other players.”
Still, he needed to be on his toes. As the conversations between the league and the players’ association continued, logistics needed to be maneuvered. How many games would we get to play before the playoffs? Do we even get that option?
This uncertainty didn’t sit well with Harden. Decisions about the league’s return and structure were out of his control, but one thing he could control was his body. He wasn’t going to be a playerwho needed to get back in playing shape. So he decided to ramp up his workouts. Harden needed space to work, he needed familiarity, and most of all, he needed heat.
He called Polk. Harden was coming back to Phoenix — and he was bringing Allen with him.
On the phone, Harden and Polk discussed plans to get things in order. Had this been a normal year, Harden would head to Arizona to unwind in the offseason — Scottsdale in particular. But it wasn’t the offseason.
“He said, ‘I’m not coming out here to hang out and relax,'” Polk said, referring to their conversation. “‘I want to make sure that you’re getting me up early, where I’m keeping busy.'”
A week full of high-intensity sessions would be the ideal preparation for the resumption of sports. Harden wanted to work out two, three times a day, mixing in different techniques and specific drills curtailed to his style of play. The hiatus had caught him off guard, but the return wouldn’t.
“He wanted to make sure everything was amped up,” Polk said. “We kind of approached everything as if the league was about to start — if he had to go play a playoff game tomorrow.”
A plan like this needed the input of all three parties. Polk, who played ball with Harden, thought it would be best to recreate the Sun Devils atmosphere, doing the same things they did as college athletes. “I do my best to create the same vibe that we had here while we were at ASU,” Polk said. “Not only was it a lot of fun, but we made leaps as players and athletes, especially mentally.”
Over the course of the week, Harden would train in Tempe, Scottsdale and Gilbert. All three are within a 30-minute drive of one another. Polk would handle the basketball workouts and mountain drills, Allen would take care of everything else related to his body. He had already spent enough time with Harden, using his prior background in basketball, previous workouts with him and understanding his unique style of play, to figure out the best way to work.
“Just focus on body control,” Allen said of the week’s focus. “Putting him in uncomfortable positions so that when he gets in those uncomfortable positions, his body’s comfortable with the different movements, foot placement and working on a little more quick-twitch with his feet. So just little things like that. I mean, he’s already James Harden. So it’s just a small thing that we’re focusing on
NewSince Allen first started working with Harden in Houston, he’s been able to break down their sessions into components, a system he employed in Phoenix. Every morning that week, Allen would meet Harden in the weight room. Here, Harden wouldn’t just lift weights to bulk up or build muscle. At 30, he doesn’t necessarily need to get stronger. His body is at the point where endurance is more important, in the sense of avoiding injury.
“He knows what his body needs, and he knows what his body wants to know,” Polk said.
Harden’s main points of emphasis in the weight room are balance, stability and body control. Different sets of weights are used, but the goal is maintaining a center of gravity. To aid his quest for achieving balance, Harden participates in yoga and pool workouts.
Afterward, Harden will do “contrast work” in the field, starting with drills in the sand. The point of the sand is to build some sort of resistance, making Harden have to exert force to make moves he would do with ease on a smooth surface. Once the sand workout is done, Allen will bring him to the field. Here, Allen will bring his football knowledge into play, putting Harden through a series of running back drills. For running backs, the important things are reaction time and fast-twitch actions into further reactions. To give Harden the NBA familiarity, Allen will introduce “three or four defenders in front of him,” where Harden will have to act as if he’s in the half court and get to the desired spot on the floor, for game-like finishes.
“Everything we do at ALL-EN is to help in-game performance,” Allen said. ” It’s designed down to the way a player walks, which translates to the way he moves. Even the lifts in the weight room, the lifts are to mimic how a player plays. so it benefits him to have an advantage on his opponent.”
When Harden was with Polk, the on-court basketball work would come, but this was more about repetition than anything. The real work would be done on the mountain. Tempe Butte is a popular spot for those living in the area, one that Harden and Polk frequented during their days roaming the campus. This week, concerning the mountain, Harden was targeting speed and explosion, sprints in intervals. Polk would mark different spots on the mountain and they would do a certain number of sprints depending on the day and workout. They would sprint to a spot, rest, stretch and then go higher. This would be repeated until reaching the mountaintop.
Where Harden separates himself from the NBA norm is his dedication to sports science, particularly in two areas: plyometrics and the importance of fast-twitch muscle fibers. Harden has been diligently studying plyometrics and has incorporated them into his regular routine, doing such exercises on his own before ever getting with a trainer. Though he might not be as athletic as a Blake Griffin or even his teammate Russell Westbrook, Harden has elite footwork. He wanted to further enhance his quickness and his first step.
Plyometrics is also known as ‘jump training’ target power, where the muscles can exert a large amount of force in a small window. For an NBA player with the ball in his hands more times than not, this is ideal.
“Plyometrics are an important piece of the training puzzle because they train and stress multiple systems,” said Dr. Rajpal Brar, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist and owner of 3CB Performance. “Obviously plyometrics involve training, jumping and higher intensity movements but further it can train balance, a system called “proprioception,” which is partly responsible for unconsciously informing the brain about the body’s position and space, and arguably most importantly, plyometrics can train deceleration and movement control, especially during landing components. Each of these pieces is important for Harden but deceleration and control is especially key because it feeds directly into Harden’s start-stop style of play.”
There are two types of muscle fibers that athletes work on based on the sport they play, slow-twitch and fast- or quick-twitch. Slow-twitch muscle fibers are used for endurance, most notably seen in Olympic long-distance runners. Fast-twitch fibers are used for quick deliberate movements. Football players such as wide receivers, running backs and defensive backs utilize this. But Harden’s playstyle also dictates the importance of fast-twitch muscle fibers, especially his stop-start movements, his shifty nature and his deceleration step-back combo.
“Fast-twitch muscles — which are referred to as Type II muscle fibers, further categorized into IIa vs IIb fibers based on how quickly they fatigue — are key for explosive, high-intensity movements,” Dr. Brar said. “For example, during acceleration and jumping, for Harden — whose playing style is predicated on change of speed, start-stop movements — these fast-twitch fibers are key during those critical moments where he has to quickly accelerate to beat the defender off the dribble, to explode on his step back to create space, to generate quick lift on his jumper, and so on.”
During the course of the week, Allen learned quite a few things about Harden the person, away from the training. ” Oh man, he’s so down to earth, humble,” Allen said.
“As a person, man, I got so much respect for him, just finding out the guys who he keeps around are the guys that he grew up with from high school. I mean he remained the same and he’s very genuine, and he has pure intentions man. But one thing about him, he’s going to work. He loves the work, he puts in the work to be the best — his mindset is that. I learned that he’s got a killer instinct man. He wants to master something. Like he’s going to master it. That’s just how his mind is wired.”
Allen has seen all sorts of athletes come through his facility and has worked with all body types. There’s a narrative around the league, as far as #NBATwitter is concerned, that Harden is out of shape or doesn’t work hard. That’s ridiculous.
“I don’t know where they’re getting that from,” Allen said. “You don’t average 35 points a game and not be in shape. I think people don’t understand there [are] different body types. There [are] some people that work out every day, every day, every day and their body won’t look like the guy that has a 2 percent body fat. But their performance — the guy that has the 2 percent body fat might not be able to have the endurance of the guy that has the perception of not being in shape.”
“It beats me, man,” Polk said. “It beats me. To be honest, a lot of people have had different roads to get to where they’re at. James’ road has been strictly a result of hard work. I watched the freshmen come in, a McDonald’s all-American that felt like he was underrated compared to some of the other kids in his class. I watched him outwork people and outwork people and reap the benefits of his hard work. So you could say a lot about Harden, but hard-working is definitely something that you need to put in that mix.
“I’ve been around a lot of players, man. I played at a high level of myself, you know. I played alongside James in college, I played overseas. I won a G-League championship with the Vipers, I’ve been around other high-level guys that have been in the league and play at a very high level. And I’ll tell you James Harden’s work ethic is second to none. I haven’t seen, you know, anybody for that matter go at it the way he’s gone at it, you know. He’s had MVP years and finds ways to continue to elevate his game every year and that’s a direct result of hard work. I can’t say enough about his work ethic because without it he wouldn’t be where he’s at today.”

The flavors come from real fruit and veggies. I tried the Lemon Lime flavor. They did work, but they certainly are not the best CBD gummies out there. They also taste rather sour.
All of the CBD gummies to help a person stay calm from Charlotte’s Web are made with zero additives and no dyes. Each jar contains 60 gummies with 10 mg of hemp extract, 50 mg of L-theanine, and 75 mg of lemon balm per serving. Two gummies are suggested for each serving, but I often had to ingest more than two or three to feel at peace after a stressful day at work.
Charlotte’s Web markets its CBD gummies to people on the go. Its main focus is consumers with busy lifestyles can use them after exercising, as well as at the office and at bedtime. A user just has to be patient and consistent and positive results will be steady, even if they are a bit slow.

3 PureKana Vegan CBD Gummies

Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, the team at PureKana markets their vegan CBD gummies to people looking to manage daily stressors, whether they are at home or in the office. The company that became known for its oil tinctures organically grows its own brand of CBD gummies on Kentucky farms.
Made in the United States and sourced from domestically grown hemp, PureKana relies on its trademarked technology and CO2 extraction procedure to make its own gummies. They come in a wide variety of natural flavors, but nothing stands out as tasting particularly special. The company also states its hemp never contains dangerous or toxic elements, such as chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides.
Supposedly, PureKana’s products work with a person’s Endocannabinoid System to offer mental and physical benefits, like loosening up and feeling free of stress. PureKana markets their gummies to people looking to improve sleep-patterns.
Ensuring product and consumer safety, PureKana works with certified companies and third-party laboratories to test every CBD edible. They are also 100% vegan and completely free of both GMO and THC isolate.
I appreciated how PureKana walks readers through the process of eating CBG gummies, and the treats traveling along the digestive system before being absorbed. I also liked their honesty, admitting that its Vegan CBD Gummies often take a while to become effective. PureKana lives up to industry standards and customer expectations.
You can read details about every CBD edible on their website, where the company boasts about its fabulous affiliations with hemp growers. A visitor can read all about every one of its products for sale. Lab results are also shared on the company website. I even noticed that they market their CBD supplements to senior citizens.
Designed to improve relaxation, a $40 bottle of 20 PureKana Vegan CBD Gummies comes with 25 mg of CBD per piece. Of course, you can increase or decrease your frequency and quantity as needed.

4 Green Roads CBD Gummies

Green Roads is a small family-based business in Florida that was founded by an experienced pharmacist in 2013, Laura Baldwin Fuentes. The pharmacist was trying to help a friend overcome an addiction to opiates, the drugs derived from opium. Today, Green Roads has one mission: to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of every consumer with high quality CBD products, like oil tinctures and edibles.
Today, Green Roads’ is rather popular. In fact, its broad spectrum formulas can be found in more than 10,000 different retail locations across the country. They are non GMO and stem from hemp grown on domestic farms. Green Roads offers a wide variety of products designed to work for almost everyone, including daily dose packs, animal products, and even coffees and teas.
The company boasts about its high standards and breakthrough extraction methods. I also appreciate how a user can readily find product lab sheets online, as well as by scanning a QR code on the packaging. That’s pretty cool. Green Roads also breaks down usage information for each product to make it as straightforward as possible.
However, Green Roads’ proprietary formulations are perhaps too proprietary. The company does not provide specifics about its extraction processes and certifications online, making it hard for users to understand exactly how its products are made. At least every one of Green Roads’ products is tested at a third party lab.
Unfortunately, Green Roads CBD Gummies aren’t made with phytocannabinoid-rich (PCR) hemp oil. Also, consumers can’t read important information about their extraction and formulation processes. The gummies’ lab sheets can be found on the packaging, as well as online. While they are known for proving quality service, Green Roads is also one of the most expensive brands out there. A $43.95 bottle of 30 Green Roads CBD Gummies only comes with 10 mg of CBD per piece. Ouch.

5 Lord Jones Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops

Based in Los Angeles, Lord Jones has been making luxurious CBD products since 2016. Marketing to the rich and famous, Lord Jones Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops are supposed to be chic. Okay, but you are paying a bit more for product recognition and packaging.
Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops are made to promote a serene sense of well-being. Everything is mixed in little batches containing Ecuadorian dark chocolate, imported natural European fruit flavors, sugar, citric acid, gelatin, and broad spectrum CBD extract derived from top quality hemp.
Developed by a veteran team of experts in the CBD industry, Lord Jones’ gummies are said to help individuals feel calm and cool. Supposedly, they can help a user concentrate for extended periods of time. Of course, they do take a while to kick in.
All the CBD edibles are manufactured here in the U.S. and possess no THC whatsoever. They are also gluten free, as well as tested in labs to ensure customers’ safety. Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops also have gelatin, meaning they are not vegan. Not only are they made with sugar cane, a consumer may find small amounts of dairy. After all, the gumdrops are created in a facility that also manufactures products with dairy.
Lord Jones claims it is best to consume the CBD treats within 6 months from the date of purchase. But I noticed they grow hard after 2 or 3 months. It’s only natural for gummies to stiffen up after being exposed to air for too long. In other words, make sure you keep any Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops in a sealed bag or airtight container, and stored at room temperature.
Each box of Lord Jones Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops costs $45 and only comes with a mere 9 gumdrops, each containing 20 mg of CBD. A whopping $5 a pop is a bit pricey, especially for a product that doesn’t always receive favorable reviews. At least Lord Jones Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops are elegantly packaged.

6 Fab CBD Chews

For those of you who want to steer clear of THC in general, Fab CBD Chews has been around since 2018. Despite the company being located in Tampa, Florida, its financial offices are on the other side of the pond in the U.K. They are also small in size in comparison to the leaders of the CBD industry, like Just CBD.
Designed to manage day to day stressors, Fab CBD Chews’ gummies are crafted with CBD isolate. They are also gluten free and non GMO, as well as a smart option for vegans.
What I like about Fab CBD is its simplicity. Not only do they maintain an informative website, it only sells three products, CBD oil, a CBD topical cream, and CBD gummies. Each one is derived from naturally grown hemp. It’s just too bad Fab CBD Chews are only available in one flavor, Fruit, that is said to have an undesirable taste.
Fab CBD Chews website has plenty of photos of supposed real customers, which is refreshing to see. Many other CBD businesses’ websites lack color and personality. At the same time, they don’t skip out on sharing lab reports. In fact, Fab CBD chews uses the same analytics laboratory, ProVerde, as Fab CBD Chews and much bigger companies, such as PureKana.
Those with allergies should beware, as Fab CBD Chews are processed. In fact, they stem from the same building that makes fish gelatin. They are then packaged in the same facility as wheat, coconut, and dairy products.
Meant to work as a post-workout supplement, the gummies from Fab CBD Chews have 25 mg of CBD isolate, come in a 4 oz jar, and supposedly contain 750 mg of CBD total. Of course, without a lab, it’s hard to know how much you are really getting in each piece. They normally cost $59 or more.

7 Premium Jane CBD

Since opening its doors in the summer of 2018 in Los Angeles, Premium Jane CBD has blossomed into a popular brand in the United States. Now centered in Scottsdale, Arizona, Premium Jane’s products, including standard CBD oil tinctures, soft gel CBD capsules, a topical CBD cream, and CBD gummies are created with a THC-free isolate extract.
Premium Jane CBD gummies should be consumed just like any other piece of candy, allowing the CBD to travel through your digestive system before it gets absorbed into your bloodstream. People should start out with either half a gummy or one whole gummy to figure out their ideal serving sizes.
The CBD gummies are created at registered Pilot Research farms in rural Oregon, where they are inspected regularly for purity, as well as for safety. Each crop is selected for its rich amounts of terpenes and cannabinoids in order to give a user the best CBD experience possible before being shipped anywhere in the 50 States.
Everything sold at Premium Jane is extracted from the stalk, stems, leaves and flowers of industrial cannabis. They also make it a point to avoid using any and all dangerous chemicals, including pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers in its products. Meanwhile, a user never has to worry about the psychoactive “high” associated with marijuana. Rather folks simply feel calm and cool.
When it comes to Premium Jane CBD gummies, user feedback is at a minimum, as they have not been around very long. Yet, there are some benefits worth noting shared in reviews all over the web. For starters, the company relies on the reputable ProVerde Labs to make sure their CBD is top of the line and effective in users’ systems.
A person can even go online and check out Premium Jane CBD gummies’ laboratory reports, along with customer feedback. Reviews often mentions the great taste of the edibles. The price of Premium Jane CBD gummies is rather inexpensive. A jar of 30 gummies, 25 mg each, is priced at $55.

8 Sunday Scaries CBD Gummies

Sunday Scaries CBD Gummies are created to help those who are stressed out feel at ease. Staying focused becomes easier, as does sleeping through the night. That is why they are all made with a unique blend of broad spectrum CBD, vitamin D3, and vitamin B12.
The treats are ideal for vegans who crave vitamins. The goal of Sunday Scaries CBD Gummies is to decrease a user’s daily mental, physical, and emotional strains. A consumer can choose between Sunday Scaries’ gelatin based gummies from pure sugarcane and vegan-friendly edibles made from pectin, along with high fructose corn syrup.
Perhaps the greatest benefit, or at least the most fun factor of Sunday Scaries CBD gummies is that they come in a variety of colors, including yellow, orange, green, and a tasty red. They may come with an unpleasant aftertaste, but I know I am not simply enjoying candy for my sweet tooth.
I suggest taking a single Sunday Scaries CBD Gummy bear roughly 45 minutes before heading to bed. If you do not begin to feel drowsy in 30 minutes, simply enjoy a second helping. That should be enough to knock you out for a few hours at a time. If a third is necessary, go ahead. However, I wouldn’t consume any more than three.
Whether you are on the highway or watching television in the evening, you will feel more relaxed. You’ll get better sleep and not be sluggish in the morning. Every bottle of Sunday Scaries CBD Gummies comes with 20 gummies with 10 mg of CBD each. I found them online for $31 to $39 each. Of course, folks can always buy in bulk to save a few bucks. They may not be the most inexpensive edibles on the market, but Sunday Scaries CBD Gummies do help you chill out.

9 CBDfx Gummies

Founded in 2015, Southern California’s CBDfx is one of the most well-established brands for CBD. The brand got its feet wet with CBD Vape products and has since began selling its own brand of CBD gummies derived from hemp plants grown organically in the United States. The gummies are sweet and chewy. You can go on the web and quickly choose berry flavored CBD treats or special CBD gummies with special ingredients, like turmeric, melatonin and spirulina. None of the gummies are made with corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, or any other destructive chemicals.
CBDfx prides itself on using nothing but natural plant based ingredients for its CBD gummies, as well as vape pens, oil tinctures, and more. They also claim to be the very first brand to create 100% vegan gummies. While the snacks certainly look like appetizing candy, they taste nothing like standard gummy bears. Rather, CBDfx Gummies remind me of green licorice.
CBDfx Gummies are made from organic sugar cane. As a result, the small particles of sugar dance around the inside of the bottle, rather than staying stuck to the gummies. That means a person can expect a little mess to fall on his or her desk or lap every time one is pulled out. Otherwise, CBDfx Gummies are an impressive and effective treat for the mind and body.
Unfortunately, CBDfx doesn’t share any information about who farms their hemp or what procedures they follow. Who knows what practices are being used?
You can now purchase little 8 packs of CBDfx Gummies, as well as 60 pieces with 5 mg of CBD per vegan gummy, 300 mg in total, for approximately $50. The company recommends a dose of one to two CBD gummies a day, meaning a bottle of 60 gummies should last a consumer for one to two months.

10 Highland Pharms Hemp Plus CBD Gummies

Made with all natural ingredients, Highland Pharms Hemp Plus CBD Gummies is the opposite of a pharmaceutical company. Founded in Texas in 2015 and operating a retail location in Olympia, Washington, Highland Pharms uses organic hemp grown on a boutique farm in Colorado. Highland Pharms Hemp Plus CBD Gummies do not smell good, nor do they taste any better. At least they successfully help people relax and fall asleep.
What Highland Pharms refers to as “Pharmaceutical Grade Hemp” is industrial hemp that has been specifically bred to have high levels of cannabinoids. The non GMO CBD gummies are all natural, with the exception of food dyes and artificial flavorings (Black Carrot Juice Concentrate, Organic Turmeric, and Organic Annatto) in their gummies.
As far as negative factors about Highland Pharms Hemp Plus CBD Gummies, I know buyers are quickly turned off by the name “Pharms” and its label, “pharmaceutical grade.” There is no more information offered to distinguish it from medicine or even industrial hemp. Also, a blogger like me is quickly annoyed at silly typos and partial product descriptions of the business website. It’s not very professional.
All of Highland Pharms’ products are sent off for testing by ProVerde that confirms the gummies’ potency of CBD and other cannabinoids. They also make sure there are zero heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, or microbes.
There is no one standard serving size. While one person may like taking half a piece at a time, another may prefer the mental and physical effects of one or even two CBD snacks.
You can purchase fruit flavored Highland Pharms Hemp Plus CBD Gummies in bottles of 20. You can choose 10 mg gummies for $39.95 or 20 mg edibles for $69.95. The shipping is known to be fast, as well as free. While the price may be a bit high, consumer feedback usually claims Highland Pharms Hemp Plus CBD Gummies are worth the money.
Do you have more questions about CBD gummies? We’ve got the answers…

How Should I Pick CBD Gummies?

As a consumer, it is now up to you to pick the best CBD gummies on the market. For any first time user, that’s a task that is easier said than done. You don’t want to spend too much money, but you should also steer clear of any cheap edibles. But there is so much more to consider than merely prices.
When choosing what CBD gummies to buy, you should consider the type of CBD that is used in the ingredients. CBD isolate is pure CBD that has no other cannabidiols whatsoever. This is a fabulous product for anyone who must avoid THC, like a bus driver or schoolteacher who is worried about failing a drug test. Yet, the CBD isolate extraction method takes away many important organic compounds and terpenes. In other words, an individual won’t achieve the same range of mental and physical benefits as normal CBD gummies.

Do CBD Gummies Help People Manage Stress?

Yes, CBD gummies are extremely effective when it comes to managing stress. As millions of men and women deal with stress on a daily basis, CBD treats calm a user’s body and mind by binding to serotonin receptors. No, everyday stressors won’t disappear, but CBD edibles certainly helps folks deal with the pressure. Of course, it may take a bit of trial and error to decide your favorite flavor and dosage of CBD edibles. Regardless, CBD makes it effortless to chill out, allowing stress to calmly float away. Also, CBD gummies are rather convenient, as you can carry them around in your pocket or purse. That way, you can take one whenever necessary, whether you are on the highway during rush hour or preparing to give a big speech at the office.

How Do I Consume CBD Gummies?

Eating CBD gummies couldn’t be any easier. In fact, it is no different than eating delicious gummy bears with spectacular advantages for your mind and body. Simply chew your goody up. Otherwise, you can let it sit on your tongue for a while and enjoy the flavor before it sinks into your system. The CBD will then make its way through your digestive system and end up flowing through your veins.

How Do CBD Gummies Make You Feel?

While the total impact of CBD gummies varies from person to person, all positive results are usually the same. For instance, CBD edibles are known for improving the brain’s capacity to manage stress and help folks feel calm. With a peaceful state of mind, a user can enjoy quickly falling asleep and staying asleep throughout the night. That means you will wake up feeling more refreshed and stay energized throughout the day. Being more productive can certainly add to an individual’s happiness. That’s pretty cool, considering that approximately 35% of Americans currently suffer from symptoms of insomnia.

What Are the Best CBD Gummies to Buy?

According to buyers and sellers, the top CBD gummies for sale are the edibles without any GMOs (genetically modified organisms). At the same time, the best CBD treats are vegan friendly and are low in carbs. Consumers agree that the highest quality CBD gummies come from U.S. hemp with minimal traces of THC, if any.

What Are CBD Gummies’ Ingredients?

When it comes to the exact ingredients found in CBD gummies for sale, the elements can vary by manufacturer, as well as by taste. When shopping, you can try to avoid any and all additives, including preservatives and artificial ingredients. You should also avoid CBD gummies with high fructose corn syrup. Also, any vegans and people with allergies should do a little homework before indulging in CBD gummies. The top CBD gummies available tend to be completely unrefined, with real sugar, organic flavoring, and non-GMO ingredients.

Should CBD Gummies Be Laboratory Tested?

When shopping for CBD gummies, its essential that you only buy edibles that have been laboratory tested by a third party. After all, the quality of CBD products often varies. While one vendor sells nothing of premium CBD edibles, another may simply be unloading expensive candy with no upsides whatsoever. Your safety may even come into question. It is up to you, the consumer, to find a completely reliable product. That way, you can rest assured you are always purchasing top quality CBD gummies and not sugar-filled sweets.

Can I Buy CBD Gummies Legally?

Yes, CBD gummies, as well as CBD oils and vapes, are legal in all 50 States, as long as they come from hemp. Every hemp product contains a THC level of less than 0.3 percent. On the other hand, the THC in marijuana is much stronger and often gives users unwanted euphoric highs. That is why marijuana-derived CBD products are not legal on the federal level. In other words, it is much safer and smarter to buy hemp-derived CBD gummies.

Will CBD Gummies Make Me High?

No, CBD gummies derived from hemp will not make you high, even if it comes from the same plant and offers many of the same wonderful benefits as THC. Sure, both CBD and THC interact with the cannabinoid receptors in users’ brains. However, our reactions to them are not the same. CBD doesn’t have a response on CB1 receptors. In other words, it does not create a euphoric high. In fact, CBD often reduces THC’s influences on the body.

When Did CBD Gummies Become Legal?

In 2018, the federal Farm Bill legalized CBD and other industrial hemp on a national level. Men and women, old and young, have since been taking advantage of the best CBD gummies available. A number of users find edibles to be much more fun than oil tinctures. Eating snacks is also more convenient than vaporizers and doobies. You can pop one, two, or more in your mouth at a time. Too bad you can’t say the same about CBD-infused bath bombs.

What flavors of CBD Gummies Can I Buy?

Fortunately for consumers all over the world, CBD gummies can now be found in a seemingly countless number of flavors, ranging from Wild Berry and Sour Bear to delicious Apple Rings, Rainbow Ribbons, Peach Rings, and Blueberry Rings. The only hard part may be picking your favorite one. Fortunately, you can choose seven or more of the best tasting CBD gummies and enjoy a new one every day of the week.

How Much CBD Should You Consume?

If you have never tried CBD gummies before, it is best to start off slowly. Begin with one 5 gm piece. Better yet, you can cut it in half to start with a 2.5 mg gummy. Then you have to do is sit back and relax. It’s worth the wait, as you can enjoy the mental and physical advantages of CBD for approximately 5 hours at a time. If a couple of hours go by and you feel like taking more, go right ahead. It’s not like it’s possible to overdose on CBD gummies. Over time, you can always increase the amount of CBD you take on a regular basis.

How Should I Store CBD Gummies?

It is best to minimize your CBD edibles’ exposure to light and heat. That is why CBD gummies should be stored in a cool and dark place, like a refrigerator or freezer. Being placed in such a controlled environment will increase your CBD goodies’ shelf lives. The potency of CBD gummies tends to last several weeks in the fridge and approximately 6 months at a time in a freezer.

How Long Do CBD Gummies Last?

The effects of CBD gummies usually last approximately 6 hours at a time in a user’s system. It takes roughly 30 to 60 minutes for the benefits, such as mental and physical relaxation, to kick in. Of course, responses can differ from one person to another. Certain factors that come into account include the strength of the edible and the speed of your metabolism, as well as the last time you ate. An individual with an empty stomach will feel the impact of CBD gummies much sooner than someone who just ate a large meal.

Are All CBD Gummies the Same?

When it comes to purchasing CBD gummies on the internet, you must realize that not all the edibles are the same. For instance, you should only trust CBD products that were made in the U.S., as well as tested in a lab. Otherwise, you could end up paying for nothing more than expensive candy. It may help to read different reviews of CBD gummies on the internet. Just remember, what one person thinks works great may not do a thing in your system, and vice versa.4

Why CBD Gummies Are a Smart Choice

In conclusion, CBD gummies are a wonderful way for men and women to get their feet wet with organic hemp-grown products. Like all CBD merchandise, the edibles are completely legal. As long as you make sure everything is laboratory tested and made in the United States, you too can jump on the bandwagon and take advantage of CBD gummies’ lifechanging benefits.

2020.05.10 00:39 TaraJo What do I need to bring with me for surgery?

So, I have a surgery date this July in Scottsdale. I'm going to be there for two weeks. However, because issues with covid-19, I have to take a coronavirus test a few days before surgery, get a covid test and stay isolated until surgery and I can't have a visitor with me while I'm in the hospital. Ordinarly, I would have planned to bring what I think I'll need and my guest, who's coming with me, would pick up anything else I might need. Now I can't really do that. Which means, if I'm going to need anything during my stay, I need to bring it with because I can't have someone go get it for me.
The question is, what do I need to bring?
I know I'm going to need some granny panties to wear right after surgery; some I don't mind getting ruined. Clothes that are loose in the genital area; skirts and dresses would be best if not for the fact that I still don't have the confidence to wear them very much. Might be time to get over that. A little lube wouldn't hurt. A little food to hold me over a couple of days in the hotel while isolating, not to mention a little gatorade for the doctors bowel prep instructions. Toiletries like soap, shampoo, deodorant. I want to say some lotion because I know I'm going to get dried out in Arizona, but I also know they tell you not to use lotion the day of surgery. My laptop and my Switch to keep me entertained, obviously. And my phone to keep in touch with people. Maxi pads to help with bleeding.
What other things do I need to bring? And while I'm in the hotel, how many changes of clothes will I need? Will I be expected to just wear a hospital gown or will I be wearing other clothes while in the hospital? And will the hospital do my laundry for me so I don't have to go home with a big bag of stinky, dirty laundry?

During the film he repeatedly attempted to kiss her and place her hand on his penis. Afterwards it was dark outside and as he had parked at the back of the lot, she found herself completely isolated with Torres. In the car he demanded oral sex. When she resisted, he grew agitated and alluded to the fact that he had not driven two hours to Tampa for nothing. He then aggressively forced her to perform oral sex. In 2009, at 17, she attended a BOTDF show in LA where Torres asked her to join them on tour as a merch girl. Whilst on this tour Mal witnessed Torres acting inappropriately with underage fans, attempting to groom their parents, discussing sexual content on stage, groping and making out with a 13 year old fan and caught him in their hotel room with an underage girl whilst in the middle of receiving oral sex. Torres began bullying her and making cruel jokes at her expense before subsequently firing her. She was not credited for her contribution to their song 'Sexting'. Rebecca told her that Torres was a hair stylist and offered to put her in contact with him. Torres subsequently added Ashlee on Myspace. In Feb/March 2009 he arrived at Ashlee’s home to style her and her 14 year old friends’ hair. He snuck alcohol to the girls and when her mother went to bed Torres entered the girl’s bedroom. He began questioning their sexualities, encouraged them to make out and joined in. Later in the night he put her hand on his exposed penis. When she recoiled he became enraged. In May he invited her to the cinema and afterwards, he parked his car in an isolated area of the parking lot and attempted to force her to perform oral sex. When she refused, he grew angry and erratically drove her home. He pulled over near her home and forced her to perform oral sex. (Source: Chris Hansen Interview and Repzilla Interview, 2020)
  8. 2009, Florida: Damien Leonhardt (10), also known as Jessi Slaughter, added Torres on Myspace and met him soon afterwards at a BOTDF show. Torres began grooming them. Damien told Repzilla that they attended a BBQ at Torres’s parents’ home where they were forced to perform oral sex in the bathroom. Damien also told Repzilla that both Jayy Von Monroe and Jeffree Star witnessed them in the company of Torres at 11 years old. In 2010 a school friend exposed their relationship with Torres on Stickydrama. They retaliated by uploading the “I’ll pop a glock in your mouth and make a brain slushie” YouTube video. Torres was alerted to the situation and publicly denounced Damien as a liar who had underlying mental health problems. Damien then uploaded the “You done goofed” video with her father who was enraged by the bullying. Torres responded by making a parody YouTube video of this with Jayy. He then sent his fan base, the "Slash Gash Terror Crew", to dox Damien. On Damien’s 12th birthday BOTDF released their song “You Done Goofed” which included lyrics such as, “My name and reputation won’t be the target of a slut” and Damien subsequently attempted suicide the same day. He forced her to her knees and ejaculated on her face. She stated that the encounter was over within 45 seconds, before she had time to process what was happening. Torres told her, “That was so good baby girl, you made me feel so good”. She went back to the venue, cleaned herself up and alerted the venue staff. Torres was arrested for this assault but as she had already cleaned herself off no evidence could be obtained at the hospital and Centennial PD dropped the charges. Torres eventually convinced her to have sex with him after months of grooming. He handed her emergency contraception and watched whilst she swallowed it in front of him. (Source: HuffPost, 2018)
  15. 2010, Ohio: Katie (18) met Torres at a BOTDF show at 16 where they exchanged phone numbers. The messages quickly turned sexual and she was groomed until she turned 18 when Torres then wanted to evolve their relationship to a physical one. In 2010 Torres paid for her to fly to Florida where they planned to visit the Walt Disney theme parks. During this visit Torres spiked Katie’s drink and filmed the ‘X Times 3’ video which was subsequently uploaded to YouTube. After it was filmed, he led her to his walk-in closet, pinned her to the ground by her throat, choked her, threatened to kill her and raped her. She was forced to stay with him for 1.5-2 months until her mother demanded Torres send her home to Ohio or she would phone the police. (Source: Chris Hansen Interview, 2020)

Her mother took her to the band’s hotel for an after party and left her alone with Torres whilst she went to score drugs. Torres offered Ellie a $60 BOTDF jacket in exchange for oral sex, stating her mother would not find out. The child obliged. Afterwards, Torres added her on Myspace and communicated with her via phone for a year. In 2012 Ellie attended Warped Tour in Cincinnati alone. She met with Torres who led her to his tour bus. There he exposed her breasts, poured Monster energy drink over them to lick off and forced her to perform oral sex on him. 18. 2012, Cleveland, Ohio: Kate Offutt (16) attended a BOTDF show where she was molested by Torres after previously defending him vocally online against sexual abuse accusations. She stated, “There are so many people I’ve attacked on his behalf… After seeing so many testimonies you would think maybe these people aren’t lying, maybe there is something behind this, but unfortunately I put myself in denial ... I tried to believe for the longest time that he was innocent… Then it happened to me.” (Source: HuffPost, 2019)

In May Torres invited Tye, her mother and her brother to stay at his home in Arizona for a week. Tye’s mother trusted Torres as he had previously paid to get her car out of impound and offered to reimburse her for the 23 hour drive to his home (he didn't). Tye stated that during this visit he expected oral sex twice a day and that, “He would never ask my permission, just take me somewhere where we were alone and grab my head and push me down like a dog”. Jayy Von Monroe told the Huffington Post that he had seen Tye at the property with Torres, who passed her off as a family friend. (Source: Metalsucks, 2018 and HuffPost, 2018)

Her boyfriend arrived at that moment and Torres backed off. In the weeks following this incident Tiffany received numerous texts from Torres which were subsequently leaked online. One states, “I’m going to gag your little teenage mouth with my hard cock and fuck you till you cum all over me”. (Source: HuffPost, 2018)

When she arrived at BOTDF’s tour bus Torres demanded she go to his private quarters. Once isolated he became aggressive and raped her whilst filming it on his phone. Torres invited Kerry to join them on the remainder of their Warped Tour shows and subsequently their 2013 European tour. Whilst in Paris in 2013, Torres spiked Kerry’s drink and forced her into a threesome with a fan. Torres flew Kerry to San Diego to work on the bands 2014 album ‘Bitchcraft’. Whilst in the US she was forced to perform sex acts on Torres. On one occasion, at Bar Sinister in Hollywood, Torres grew enraged that she was spending time with another guy. He stormed out of the bar and began verbally and physically assaulting Kerry, telling her that she was a “worthless, disgusting slut”. This YouTube video captured the end of a fight that night after a couple attempted to protect Kerry from Torres. When she left the US she ceased contact with BOTDF. She was not financially compensated fully any of her tour appearances. (Source: Chris Hansen Interview, 2020)

She was coerced into having sex after previously refusing. Tesah dated Torres on and off for two years. In this time she witnessed him groping underage fans and bringing young girls to their hotel. She claims that Torres admitted to her that he is only attracted to younger girls. Tesah was also exploited financially after BOTDF separated and he was struggling with debt. Survivors of Grooming, Predatory/Inappropriate and Abusive Behaviours
  1. 2006, Florida: Jesse (17) met Torres through Myspace. He then contacted her through AOL messenger offering to style her hair in exchange for oral sex. When she refused he attempted to manipulate her. She blocked him on messenger and Myspace. (Source: Repzilla Interview, 2020)
  2. 2008, Location Unknown, US: Noa (11) met Torres via Myspace where he provided her with his Skype information, and began grooming her. He quickly became sexually explicit during their calls which culminated in him masturbating whilst on video. He explained that he couldn’t help himself as she was wearing a tank top and he could see her chest. Noa told him that she didn’t like what he had done but he became enraged and attempted to manipulate her. He claimed that if she liked him, she would allow him to do it. His demands of her during these calls gradually worsened. He asked her to expose her breasts, to put her fingers or objects down her throat until she gagged, to refer to him as “daddy” and to expose her genitals whilst touching herself. She expressed that she felt ashamed and deeply uncomfortable but obeyed him as she was living in an abusive household and desperately yearned friendship. Torres promised that he would save her from her mother. The final time they spoke, he informed her that he was done with her as grooming and coaching her to perform for him was proving to be too difficult. He threatened to send her family screenshots of her exposing herself on camera if she told anyone about him. He told her she wouldn’t be believed, and her family would be disgusted by her. He then blocked her. She attempted suicide for the first time 1-2 days later. (Source: Repzila Interview, 2020)
  3. 2009, Orlando, Florida: Jayy Von Monroe (16) met Torres in 2007 at a show, after being introduced to him via Myspace. On Jayys 18th birthday, in 2009, Torres called and asked him to join BOTDF after firing his other band member, Garrett Ecstasy. He began touring with Torres one month later and quickly learnt that he was aggressive, impatient and short tempered. Jayy explained that he had been groomed by Torres and was subsequently mentally, emotionally and financially abused. Jayy officially left BOTDF in 2016 after being diagnosed with HIV but still being forced to go on tour by Torres who was struggling financially. He appeared on Dragula in 2017 under his drag name 'Dahli' where he discussed why he left BOTDF. (Source: HuffPost, 2018 and Chris Hansen Interview, 2020)
  4. 2010, Various Locations, US: Ash Costello (25), the lead singer of New Years Day, was victimised by Torres during two tours. On the 2010 “All The Rage!” tour, he pinned her against a wall and drew over her face in Sharpie, burst into her dressing room and began firing a super soaker in her face (ruining her makeup) and on Halloween night Torres assaulted Ash. She was getting changed when she heard strange noises, before noticing Torres standing in the shadows wearing a cloak and animal mask. She initially thought it was a joke until he lunged forwards, pinned her to the ground and began choking her. She was terrified and believed he was going to kill her. Her band members heard the commotion and saved her. NYD were pressured by their management to not file a police report and to stay silent. On the 2013 “The Scene is Dead” tour, NYD witnessed minors hanging around backstage and at BOTDFs tour bus, mums actively searching for their young daughters and frequent violent outbursts including an incident where he smashed the lighting guys laptop. At the beginning of the tour, Ash would join Torres on stage to perform alongside him. He would belittle her and even stated on stage that “you have to suck my dick if you want to make it in Hollywood”. Ash was scared to confront Torres due to his two large security guards. NYD were eventually released from the tour for discouraging a young girl from going to BOTDFs tour bus. Torres told Ash that he would ruin her. Afterwards, young girls felt comfortable coming to Ash about the abuse they had suffered at the hands of Torres. She compiled a report encompassing the testimonies and evidence from 30 survivors and filed a police report with the Orange County sheriff’s department. Police didn’t pursue an investigation due to jurisdictional issues and the evidence was destroyed after 2 years. (Source: Chris Hansen Interview, 2020)
  5. 2012, Location Unknown: Sophie McClure (13) attended a BOTDF show where Torres kissed her. Sophie stated that at other BOTDF shows she witnessed Torres have “a young girl flash the crowd for a free shirt” and another where “he took his pants off and crowd surfed”. They continued to communicate for years afterwards. (Source: HuffPost, 2018)
  6. 2012, Oklahoma: Kortney (17) attended a tour alongside two older friends to watch Davey Suicide. Whilst hanging around outside the venue, Dahvie, accompanied by a large security guard, approached her, and complimented her on her dress. Later, the same security guard approached her and asked her if she liked botdf. When she said no, he replied “Ok I’ll let Dahvie know”. During Jeffree Stars performance a second man approached her and began chatting to her about his prior experience working with Davey Suicide. He asked her if they’d like to go on the tour bus. She agreed thinking he meant Davey’s. When they were brought on the bus, she realised it was BOTDFs. In the beginning, Dahvie appeared friendly but she felt uncomfortable and didn’t want to be on his bus. When the opportunity presented itself, he grabbed her, pulled her onto the bed against him, asked her age, stroked her arm, asked what her zodiac sign was and took a photo of them on his phone. He suddenly called for his bodyguard to “get rid of her friends”. Panicked, she said she wanted to go for a cigarette. Torres called on an older woman to take her for a smoke and then take her back to him. When she got off the tour bus she quickly left. (Source: Pastel Belle Interview, 2020)
  7. 2012, Cleveland, Ohio: Nydia (15), also known as N3l3na Kniv3z, began communicating with Torres on Twitter where he started grooming her and inviting her to stay with him. In 2012, after a show, Torres invited her back to his home for a party. She refused. In 2015, she began writing music for BOTDF’s “Cruel Pornography” album in exchange for credit and free merch (she did not receive either). The same year, she attended an all ages show where she seen Torres enter the women’s bathroom (she stated that Jayy also witnessed this). At a 2016 show, she witnessed Torres leaving the venue with two young girls. She ceased communication with him in 2018. Nydia stated that over the years Torres would frequently fill his mouth with water, swish it around and spit it out across the crowd. She also witnessed Jayy position a can of silly string at Torres’s crotch and squirt it across the crowd, feigning ejaculation. (Source: YouTube Testimony, 2020)
Victims of Exploitation and Theft
  1. 2010, California: Nicole Nogrady (27), also known professionally as Lady Nogrady, met BOTDF at a recording studio in LA where they worked on their “All The Rage!!” album. In a 2012 issue of Lemonade Magazine, Nicole explained how she was bullied by Torres and treated disrespectfully. She added that he had attempted to make sexual advances towards her, which she rebuffed. Torres responded by leaking her phone number on Twitter and encouraged his fans to dox her. She told Chris Hansen that Torres acted unprofessionally and had poor business ethics. Nicole was not compensated fully for her contribution to the album and was not paid for concert appearances. (Source: Chris Hansen Interview, 2020)
Character Witnesses
  1. 2010, Various Locations, US: October (21), who worked as a merch girl for Jeffree Star and William Control, met Torres on tour. He flirted with her and invited her to stay with him in Florida. Once there, she witnessed what she described as a revolving door of young women. In Oklahoma, October witnessed a group of young teenagers hanging around the band’s hotel parking lot. When they were confronted, they explained their 15-year-old friend was “with” Dahvie. When the girl left Torre’s hotel room, October stated she appeared extremely dishevelled. She claimed Torres was extremely aggressive, that he was frightening when angry and had a profound need to be in control. When discussing working in the alternative music scene from 2006 she stated she was brainwashed to believe that, “The musician’s always right, and to not make a fuss because if you make a fuss, then you’re considered high maintenance, and if you’re high maintenance, no one will hire you”. 2020.05.03 23:34 CBC_Muckraker Who are the two men named 'Jean' who Reet Jurvetson visited with before she was found murdered on November 16, 1969?

It has always puzzled me how quickly people on social media have been able to come up with answers to the most obscure questions, but have never been able to identify the two men named 'Jean' who 19-year-old Canadian Reet Jurvetson (see her bio at the bottom of this post) visited with in Hollywood in October 1969 before she was found stabbed to death.
Does anyone out there know anyone who might know, or knew in the past, either of the two men named 'Jean', identified in the CBC article? Link to it below.
To avoid any more people going down rabbit holes, as has happened repeatedly in this case, the two men were not Americans. They were Canadians who had moved to Hollywood. If you can find them, they should be able to fill in the blanks of what happened during her visit, how long she stayed with them and at least give a more concrete timeline of her movements.
Confirmed timeline: a postcard sent from her to her parents in Montreal was dated Oct 31, 1969. Her body was found on November 16, 1969 by a 15-year-old-boy hiking the hills beside Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles. She had been stabbed 157 times. Investigators at the time believe she had been killed within 48 hours of her body being found which places the date of her death as November 14 or 15.
Confirmed details of her killer: He/she had access to a car because a vehicle's tire marks were found where her body was dumped and the bloody pattern on the ground showed that whoever disposed of her had parked their car across the street and dragged her body around the back of the vehicle and across the street before dumping her.
Here is what you need to know to jog the memory of a grandparent or great uncle/ great aunt or a neighbour who might have lived in the same building as the two Jeans. They lived in a building (torn down in 1989) called Hollywood Executive Apartments, located at 5311 Melrose Avenue in Hollywood. It backed into Paramount Studios. The building had 64 single rooms, each with a bathroom but no kitchen, so the people living there likely had limited income and were likely single or a couple but not a family. The two men were living in room 306 on a floor that had 17 other suites.
Full article about the two men, with their sketches, in article below.

For those who would like to see the CBC documentary on the case, 'Who Killed Jane Doe #59' - here is the link to it on youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTyQhn1MjX8&t=9s

REET JURVETSON'S BACKGROUND:
Reet Silvia Jurvetson was the youngest of three siblings, born to Estonian refugee parents from a prominent political family. Her maternal grandfather's brother, Konstantin Pats, was the first President of Estonia.
She grew up in Montreal but in May 1969 Reet moved to Toronto where she got a job at the post office. From there she went to Hollywood, sometime between September and October, to visit two Canadian men named Jean who she was friends with from Montreal. She was 19 years old.
Her maternal grandmother from Toronto arrived in Scottsdale, Arizona on November 1, 1969 for a two week visit with Reet's brother Tonu, who was by then living there. Reet was supposed to join them during this visit.
She remained unidentified for 46 years and known as Jane Doe #59 because she was found without any identification and her family never reported her missing.
In June 2015 one of Reet's friends saw 'Jane Doe #59s' morgue photo online and called the LAPD to tell them that she suspected the person was Reet. A DNA match was made between the blood found on Reet's bloody bra and her sister Anne Jurvetson.
The LAPD announced the identification of Jane Doe #59 as Reet Jurvetson on April 27, 2016.
Reet was a talented artist and loved to sketch. She sewed her own clothes. She spoke three languages fluently. She had an independent streak and didn't want to conform to her immigrant family's conservative, religious values. She was strikingly beautiful and according to her friends turned heads wherever she went. She had a crush on musician Jim Morrison. She is sorely missed by her friends and family.

2020.05.02 04:57 MissOverDiagnosed ANTIPSYCHOTICS AND ANTIDEPRESSANTS

ANTIPSYCHOTICS AND ANTIDEPRESSANTS

I am searching for individuals in Canada who have experienced the same debilitating side effects and withdrawal effects from being prescribed antipsychotic mediations and other psychotropic medications with the intentions of approaching CBC to propose an investigation into the complacent prescribing of these medications and the destructive aftermath of taking these medications.
The text below is a "condensed" letter I wrote to the Canadian Association of Mental Health (and others) describing my disturbing, perpetual "journey" on psychotropic medications.
The complaint process was difficult in that I had not completely discontinued all psychotropic medications and was "scattered" missing an opportunity to address additional concerns regarding the prescribing psychiatrist. As psychiatric patients, we are often psychologically and physically vulnerable to the medications we are prescribed and the assumption is that we will be taking psychotropic medications for a lifetime and will never be "cured".
Respectfully, as a woman who works in health care, I know that there is a population of individuals that benefit from these medications and will have to take psychotropic medications for their lifetime. Please understand that I am not critical or judgemental of these healthcare scenarios.
The purpose in sharing the exhausting, and often consuming, chemical psychotropic medication cycle that affected my reality is to highlight the consequences of mechanically prescribing psychotropic medications, such as Risperidone, and the associated, and often disconcerting symptoms patients experience when these medications are changed or discontinued. Ill advised, I found myself running from one medication to another with the development of each new and troubling symptom contributing to increased physical and emotional discord. My quest for answers was “frantic” as my body and mind failed me. To my detriment, this “franticness” was witnessed by the prescribing psychiatrist and a host of other healthcare professionals leaving a permanent impression of madness that is not easily erased.
Listening to CBC radio and reviewing this conversation online provided links to numerous studies conducted and documented by reputable sources confirming my initial belief that many of the physical and psychological symptoms I endured over a 5 year period were primarily from psychotropic medication dosage changes, switching from one medication to another, discontinuing these medications completely and the painful emotions from having many of my concerns dismissed with condescension and evident irritability within a small healthcare community. I would find myself being labeled as a difficult patient and diagnosed with numerous psychiatric syndromes I had never been associated with in the past.
I have a history of an eating disorder decades ago and received treatment at the Toronto General Hospital for 14 weeks beginning in January 1988. I experienced decreased, yet intermittent binging after receiving care at Toronto General Hospital. I found myself moving to a smaller city to be closer to my ”distant” father in September 2003 and obtained an unreliable casual cashier position at a local hardware store. I arrived with a small supply of the antidepressant Prozac and considered discontinuing this medication when the supply was exhausted. My attempt to discontinue Prozac was unsuccessful and I was referred to a psychiatrist in March 2004.
The prescribing psychiatrist has a private psychiatric practice with full privileges at the local hospital, staffs an outpatient rapid response clinic and is also a clinical assistant professor specializing in mood and anxiety disorders at a reputable university typicalling seeing approximately 700 patients per year since 1997. These credentials suggest a mental health care professional with significant knowledge of the vast and diverse psychotropic medications he prescribes to hundreds of his patients on day to day basis.
I was prescribed a different antidepressant in March 2004 that was later determined ineffective and replaced with the “familiar” Prozac in August 2004. I was then prescribed Risperidone in September 2004 to augment the Prozac for depression. I was not aware that benefits of Prozac required time to be achieved. I returned to this psychiatrist’s office requesting higher and higher doses of Risperidone on three separate occasions specifically for this medication’s sedating properties and I was never advised of the potential irreversible side effects of Risperidone and the difficulty discontinuing this medication when this medication was first initiated and with each subsequent requested dosage increase.
Literature reports that many patients will not experience the full benefit of antidepressants therapy immediately and the benefits may take as long as 8 weeks. Perhaps Risperidone would never have been prescribed had I waited the course till the full benefits of Prozac therapy were achieved; and, conceivably, I could still be taking Prozac today.
I addressed my concerns about taking Risperidone with the prescribing psychiatrist in April 2008 when I discovered this medication was utilized as a chemical restraint in the elderly population with dementia often presenting with difficult behaviours. I did not want to take Risperidone after this discovery yet believed the prescribing psychiatrist--a paternal-like figure--”must know best”. I was both shy and timid when addressing my concerns about taking Risperidone only to end up being “in agreement” with current psychotropics or advised to trial another antipsychotic such as Invega. I opted not to trial Invega. I felt the onus of seeking alternatives to Risperidone fall upon my shoulders and my role in health care was insignificant when compared to the role of psychiatrist. I felt very unsupported.
A typical prescription would read Prozac 80-120mg and Risperdal 2-4mg or simply Prozac 120mg and Risperdal 4mg. The prescribing psychiatrist documented that I often reduced both medications and, at one time, reduced the Prozac dosage as low a 20mg documenting “relapse” without ever investigating the purpose of my non-compliance. In addition, my medical charts reveal that a pharmacy had contacted the prescribing psychiatrist asking if they should fill an expired prescription for Risperidone and Prozac as I had reported having accumulated a surplus of medication. The prescription was filled and the prescriber made no inquiry into the surplus or stockpile of medication I had acquired or the notion of noncompliance. This lack of inquiry hindered the development of a therapeutic relationship that was never really initiated.
The antipsychotic medications began to change in late 2012: from Risperidone to Quetiapine, back to Risperidone and Quetiapine, to Trazodone, to Trazodone and Quetiapine and this chemical psychotropic medication cycle would continue to negatively affect my physical and psychological wellness in such profound ways leading me to believe that other psychotropic medications were ineffective contributing to increased medication changes perpetuating physical harm and psychological chaos for several years to follow. Unbeknownst to me, I would begin an era fraught with somatic symptoms including increased body pain query fibromyalgia, fatigue, skin rashes, gastrointestinal issues query irritable bowel syndrome, nausea, numbness and tingling, cognitive decline, increased anxiety (GAD), ADHD, fatigue and insomnia coupled with numerous psychiatric labels that I can not seem to escape. The newly acquired psychiatric labels assigned to me based upon the symptoms I presented with were perhaps the most harmful and destructive eroding my self- esteem and self-confidence in tasks that I had become proficient in.
Insomnia developed when Quetiapine replaced Risperidone and I began to struggle with the demands of shift work where I was required to work within a team environment in a role to care for others. I would later return to the more “powerful” Risperidone. The prescribing psychiatrist documents in my medical charts that I “did not find the Seroquel as helpful as the Risperdal, and decided to go back on the Risperdal, in addition to continuing on the Seroquel. She was aware of the increased risk of TD [Tardive Dyskinesia] by making the decision to go back on the Risperdal, in comparison to remaining solely on Seroquel”. The irony in this statement is that I would not have found myself in that uncomfortable predicament of having to choose between one antipsychotic over another antipsychotic--Risperidone or Seroquel--had the prescribing psychiatrist obtained valid informed consent when the medication was initiated in September 2004. I propose this example of thorough documentation of informed consent is to avoid blame or responsibility for the prescribing psychiatrist’s failure to obtain informed consent when initially prescribing Risperidone and with subsequent dosage increases in the past.
In addition, I had to have older breast implants removed at the hospital I was employed at in 2013 and anticipated discontinuing Risperidone close to the surgery date. I was quite content with my body image in my early 50’s and opted for a simple explantation without additional cosmetic surgery and I had established very satisfying and financially rewarding employment allowing me to reduce my mortgage significantly.
The unexpected and coincidental removal of ruptured and encapsulated silicone breast implants in 2013 coupled with the current-day controversy surrounding silicone breast implants at that time contributed to an even greater sense of confusion within me as I began to experience the host of challenging physical and psychological symptoms . There is a specific group of individuals consisting primarily or women who believe that silicone breast implants and silicone products are harmful and contribute to numerous physical and psychological health concerns including breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
I knew enough to recognize the onset of the symptoms I experienced presented quickly but I could not determine if the symptoms were from psychotropic medication changes, psychotropic medication discontinuation or from 28 year old ruptured silicone breast implants. I was confused and with increased anxiety I asked the prescribing psychiatrist if any of my pain could be contributed to various psychotropic medications and their corresponding changes. His response was “Not to my knowledge”. There is sufficient documentation regarding the onset of the physical and psychological symptoms experienced in my medical notes from my local walk-in medical clinic; a medical clinic that would abruptly dismiss my concerns only to discover that genuine health concerns existed. I vividly recall a physician in this medical clinic, with great annoyance, attempt to convince me that I had a complex chronic disease by utilizing a “tick-in-the-box” symptom checker sheet.
Loss of respect and faith in this medical clinic eventually replaced the painful feelings of being identified as a difficult and undesirable patient.
My coping skills diminished quickly with the numerous psychotropic medication changes originating from a conscious and documented attempt to discontinue Risperidone in 2012 leading me to believe that the Prozac I had taken since the late 1998 was no longer effective. I inquired about the efficacy of Prozac when taken for extended periods of time and the prescriber psychiatrist could not comment so I requested to switch to another antidepressant in April 2014. My ability to concentrate at work declined significantly as I began to soil myself with increasing frequency and I felt I had to transfer from an acute care position consisting of shiftwork that I truly loved to a disappointing and unsupportive part time position is residential care due to the unpredictability of my bowels. I was overwhelmed when, to use medical terminology, I was incontinent of a large loose, liquid BM in Walmart. This fecal incontinence affected my ability to manage at work and in daily life and I sought more frequent psychiatric counsel. The prescribing psychiatrist was unable to connect the increased loose fecal incontinence I experienced with the medication he prescribed in April 2014 until late August 2014. The prescribing psychiatrist suggested I consider the plant-based Vegan diet and implied that the “aging process” may be contributing to my physical symptoms. These symptoms exacerbated any mood disorder I may have had contributing to increased anxiety, depression and isolation coupled with feelings complete helplessness.
The prescribing psychiatrist did not consider a differential diagnosis and review the various psychotropic medication changes prescribed, beginning with Risperidone, as potential sources to the numerous side effects presented. I would learn years later that the medication causing fecal incontinence prescribed in April 2014 had been prescribed and deemed ineffective a decade earlier in 2004 and the prescribing psychiatrist neglected to refer to my medical charts when inadvertently re-prescribing this medication for a second time.
I was very afraid as my mind and body began to fail me. The physical and psychological symptoms escalated and I called 811 in August 2014 and was advised to go to the emergency department in the hospital where I work. Emergency physicians often refer to a medication databank listing the patient’s dispensed medications to develop an understanding into the patient’s medical history and to gain potential insight into the cause of patient’s primary complaint leading to an emergency visit. My medication databank (Pharmanet) listed numerous and various psychotropic medications dispensed over several months and I was “hurt” to hear the emergency physician state that I was wasting his time during this isolated visit in August 2014. Thoughtless and disparaging comments and attitudes towards individuals with mental illness are common in the healthcare profession; a profession that should display more tolerance towards individuals with mental illness. Individuals holding positions of authority in healthcare should choose to be positive role models for others and lead by example. The emergency physician’s statement clearly implied I was a burden and this notion would be reinforced by health care professionals in my community for years to come serving to exacerbate any struggles I may have had with depression and anxiety.
I have been privy to many conversations regarding challenging patients and I regretfully admit to participating in some of these conversations. I distinctly recall caring for two women known throughout the healthcare facility as being demanding and unreasonable and it became difficult for me to care for them “burdened” with the notion that I too, could be one them. To my surprise, one of these women was transferred to the local hospice facility for end-of-life care and I felt a sense of guilt as I watched her mobilize to the hospice dinner table.
I terminated my relationship with the prescribing psychiatrist of 10 years, from March 2004 to September 2014, and received chastising comments for my actions from my GP at the time. My GP’s disapproval instilled feelings of guilt and the need for me to make amends by sending a 2014 Christmas card to the prescribing psychiatrist.
I would connect with a new psychiatrist December 2014 and she suggested the mainstay of treatment should be psychotherapeutic in nature describing the purpose of this treatment format and how I would benefit from such treatment. I am saddened to read of the individual I had become as described in the “new” initial psychiatric assessment in December 2014. The negative experiences from psychotropic medication changes, discontinuing psychotropic medication and with healthcare professionals contributed to feeling “like she is constantly being judged...she is afraid of being humiliated by others...she struggles with feeling like a fraud and that they can see her dysfunction...and is worried that her co-workers can see it in her”. In addition, this initial consult reports “chronic pain in her arms, shoulders, chest, through her legs for the last year and a half and has seen doctors who believe it might be fibromyalgia...there are chronic gastrointestinal symptoms with a possible diagnosis of Irritable Bowel Syndrome...her thought content was significant for decreased self-worth and she spoke about herself with quite disgust and shame”.
I had finally discontinued all psychotropic medications with the exception of a small dose of Oxazepam for sleep for well over a year when I first listened to this particular CBC White Coat Black Art podcast in May 2018. This podcast and corresponding website providing links to reputable academic sources strongly suggests that pertinent information regarding patient safety and the physical and psychological side effects related to psychotropic medication changes has been known, present and available for decades. I find myself wondering why the prescribing psychiatrist, with all of his credentials, did not consider the various medication changes as the source for the exacerbation of physical and psychiatric symptoms and the onset of new symptoms I presented with. In hindsight, perhaps it is possible that the prescribing psychiatrist did suspect that some of my symptoms were related to psychotropic medication changes when he prescribed Nabilone for pain; he just never articulated his suspicions to me or the healthcare providers at my local walk-in medical clinic.
In November 2016 I requested my medical notes from the psychiatrist who initiated the course of Risperidone more than twelve years ago with the intent of complaining to the College of Physicians and Surgeons after caring for an elderly woman who was prescribed levodopa/carbidopa three times a day. Many patients are prescribed levodopa/carbidopa yet there was no mention of this woman having Parkinson’s disease during shift report. It was discovered this woman presented with Parkinsonian symptoms as a result of taking Olanzapine for several decades. I could be this woman 20 years from now. This woman was later diagnosed with Stickman’s Disease by the local neurologist.
I continued to struggle with the physical and psychological symptoms that began when I attempted to discontinue Risperidone in 2012. I had been diagnosed with ADHD the previous year and the physical and psychological symptoms persisted affecting my ability to focus and concentrate contributing to feelings of increased confusion and self-doubt. Equally disabling is the the ADHD diagnosis/label itself. I now understand that I have lived with the same brain my whole life but I became fearful of ADHD’s presence with increased incidents of forgetfulness when racing thoughts regarding my failing mind and body would interrupt the continuity of complicated processes of established learned skill-sets and well laid plans. I began to identify strongly with the geriatric population and considered the possibility of dementia.
In addition, I recently discovered I had renal health concerns during this time period learning that my kidneys were “allergic’ to Hydrochlorothiazide. I developed hypertension during this era of psychotropic medication changes and I was having an adverse reaction to this medication. I began to experience neurological twitching in my fingers, increased numbness and tingling coupled with flank pain and my GP abruptly dismissed me without listening to my concerns stating I had somatoform disorder because I had a history of an eating disorder decades ago.
Perhaps one of the most humiliating experiences was returning to the emergency room in the hospital where I was employed--for a second time--to describe these symptoms noted above and to state with transparency that these symptoms, as per my GP, were symptoms of somatoform disorder. I was referred to a nephrologist who identified a legitimate health concern and who would soon adopt the same attitude as my GP. I became a renal patient that day.
With my medical notes obtained November 2016, I submitted a formal written complaint to the College of Physicians and Surgeons in February 2017 regarding the psychiatric care received and this complaint went unheeded. I received the psychiatrist’s response to my initial complaint after June 28, 2017, and the content of his response confirmed:
Receipt of my handwritten medical charts in July 2017 reveal and support the notion that valid informed consent was never obtained or documented until April 2008 confirming my original query to the College of Physicians and Surgeons when I inquired “Why wouldn’t [the prescribing psychiatrist] discuss the side effects with me when I began taking Risperidone when he first prescribed the medication to me?”
I was emotionally scattered after receiving the prescribing psychiatrist’s response and had recently been approved for long-term disability through my employer benefit package. A series of negative interactions with healthcare professionals accelerated my determination to discontinue all psychotropic medications at this time. It was unsettling to observe a rheumatologist google the results of a pathology report of a recent skin biopsy after waiting months to see her and it was equally unsettling to have to request new bloodwork when a second nephrologist made reference to lab values from six months ago during a 6-month consult. This same nephrologist would document that I had” discontinued all my medications with exception of oxazepam” underscoring my sense of “madness”. This nephrologist ordered new bloodwork, at my request, stating that a renal biopsy may be ordered if proteinuria and hematuria were present--and they were. I considered relocating to a larger city to receive healthcare realizing that all future health concerns would be met with familiar disdain within the small community I resided in.
I believed the continual proteinuria and hematuria was contributing to the physical symptoms I presented with and sought healthcare at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, November 2017. My humble and pitiful admission of traveling to the Mayo Clinic indicates the continued presence of physical and psychological symptoms months after discontinuing psychotropic medications and my own vulnerable and determined quest for answers knowing that the symptoms I presented with began within a specific time frame. The distinct stigma towards individuals with mental illness that I experienced in my hometown was all too prevalent at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. My body was changing and declining in so many ways and I felt helpless and isolated.
I overlooked the advisement of the College of Physicians and Surgeons to provide any new facts “to be of particular significance to the issues at hand” regarding my complaint about the psychiatric care I received for over a decade after receipt of the prescribing psychiatrist’s response to my initial letter of complaint and inbetween obtaining the other half of my medical chart. In addition, issues regarding abnormal lab values, disdainful healthcare professional attitudes, discontinuing medications and entertaining the idea of moving to a larger city also contributed to the oversight of the College’s advisement. I could see the inconsistencies in the psychiatric care I received but did not possess the means to articulate these inconsistencies with appropriate medical and legal language nor could I present them in a timely manner. I am a team on one with limited time and resources.
The timing of listening to this academic conversation on CBC’s White Coat Black Art addressing and discussing the physical and psychological side effects individuals often experience from discontinuing an array of psychotropic medications on May 11, 2018 could not have presented at a more opportune time: I was taking a lunch break from writing a “Statement of Points” to the Health Professions Review Board, at a local library in Vancouver, regarding the complaint I made to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia concerning the care I received from the prescribing physician over the course of 10 years when I first listened to this podcast.
I believed the content of this CBC White Coat Black Art podcast so significant that I included the link to this podcast with subsequent links to “When it comes to antidepressants, getting to zero proves difficult” by Dr. Goldman, “Many People taking Antidepressants Discover They Cannot Quit” by Benedict Carey and Robert Gebeloff of The New York Times, and “Antidepressant Discontinuation Syndrome” by C. Warner and colleagues, in my Statement of Points to the Health Professions Review Board. I naively believed the Health Professions Review Board Panel would take the time to listen and consider the well researched and documented content of this CBC podcast that succinctly explains the source of the physical and psychological symptoms I endured for several years: symptoms related to antipsychotic and psychotropic medications.
The Health Professions Review Board decision favoured the initial psychiatrist and reported that the documents I submitted “demonstrates that the Complainant is not a reliable historian and that she has demonstrated an unwillingness to accept a diagnosis or treatment that does not accord with her own view of her medical conditions as she understands them.”
Medical research and documentation relegated to medical textbooks in university and hospital libraries are now available online and it makes sense that I would search for corroborating medical knowledge to confirm that I endured numerous physical and psychological side effects resulting from psychotropic medication changes. The evident holes in my medical charts reveal that informed consent was not obtained until I had become reliant on this medication’s sedating properties. Online research will continue as the well-known adverse effects from antipsychotic and antidepressant medications are now openly revealed and discussed on public platforms including radio and television in addition to internet sources. To reiterate: I naively declared in my initial complaint to the College of Physicians and Surgeons that I began to experience many uncomfortable physical and emotional symptoms coinciding with a conscious attempt to discontinue Risperidone in 2012. These side effects were validated when listening to CBC and researching the numerous sources cited.
My original declaration was made without having obtained all my medical documentation and receipt of this documentation would confirm that I was not made aware of the irreversible side effects and difficulting discontinuing Risperidone when this medication was initially and subsequently prescribed until I addressed the issue of the inappropriate use of Risperidone as a chemical restraint in the elderly population in 2008. The Panel Chair’s response to my review request minimizes the physical and psychological symptoms I experienced when attempting to discontinue Risperidone and the chemical psychotropic medication cycle perpetuated from this event for several years to follow. In addition, this response explicitly implies that the symptoms I experienced are a result of my own negligence placing the fault upon the psychiatric patient.
The personal nature of psychiatric treatment suggests that psychiatric patients are often emotionally and/or intellectually unstable and unreliable historians creating invisible barriers hindering the vulnerable psychiatric patient’s ability to complain effectively about psychiatric care they have received. The invisible barriers intimidate, discourage and prevent the psychiatric patient from submitting formal complaints against the psychiatric healthcare provider to appropriate governing bodies who dismiss their concerns favouring the psychiatric practitioner.
I did not possess all the essential medical and legal language when formalizing my complaints to these governing bodies and their responses simply reiterate my mental illness history based upon the psychiatrist’s documentation stating I am an inaccurate historian rather than acknowledge that:
Addressing my concerns to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia and extending my complaint further to the Health Professions Review Board were ineffective. On August 3, 2017, I registered a “Petition to the Court” in the Supreme Court of British Columbia to set aside decisions made my the Health Professions Review Board and The College of Physicians and Surgeons with the intent of remitting the matter back to the College of Physicians and Surgeons. I have enclosed a copy of the “Petition to the Court” for your perusal.
The barriers I experienced in registering this Petition were many and it’s contents may appear simple, naive, and lacking in both legal and medical expertise.
I have cited and listed the same documentation I had provided electronic links to for the Health Professions Review Board to examine in an affidavit to “Petition to the Court” from the CBC White Coat Black Art podcast that aired May 11, 2018. Some of the documents cited as evidence affirm that knowledge of the physical and psychological symptoms attributed to discontinuing antipsychotic and antidepressant medications has been known for decades and should have been acknowledged by the initial prescriber of Risperidone. I would have also cited Dr. Richard Friedman’s article “A Call for Caution in the Use of Antipsychotic Drugs” had I been permitted to submit additional documentation.
I exercise respect when stating that I am not physician, a psychiatrist or a lawyer. I am an individual, a middle-aged woman, a caregiver, and a patient with a history of mental illness who encountered numerous obstacles and barriers necessitating tenacity in attempting to access the legal system independently when others would simply submit and accept to living with the same “conditions” believing themselves powerless, feeling voiceless and invisible.
The dismissive, and often humiliating, incidents I experienced from healthcare professionals occuring while under the care of the initial prescribing psychiatrist continued even after ending this patient/psychiatrist relationship. These incidents are not the primary issue in my legal suit requesting the Supreme Court of British Columbia to quash the Health Professions Review Board and College of Physicians and Surgeons’ decisions in favour of the initial psychiatrist; rather, these incidents were a manifestation of preconceived notions and stigmatic beliefs towards individuals with mental illness attempting to reclaim their mental wellness and serve to underscore the necessity for transparency between psychiatrist and patient. There is a defined series of events that transpired when I attempted to discontinue Risperidone in late 2012: a
medication I continued to request higher doses of without being informed of the potential irreversible side effects and the difficulting in discontinuing this medication. These events continued to undermine any legitimate health concerns I presented with in the small city I resided in and have affected the care and a diagnosis I received from a healthcare practitioner in the metropolis I currently reside in. It is fortunate that I acquire a GP here who is both an academic and a scientist. Dare I say, these events may not have occurred had I been given sufficient information to make an informed choice about the nature of Risperidone in 2004 when this medication was quickly prescribed in the final minutes of a 30 minute consult.
I suspect that the initial prescribing psychiatrist recognized that the harm of his actions, or lack of actions, would require significant explanation and psychiatric care reflecting poorly upon him and his position in authority within a small healthcare community. In addition, it was less problematic for him, and perhaps somewhat of a relief, when I sought alternative mental healthcare after losing faith in his abilities.
The difficulty I experienced discontinuing Risperidone and subsequent psychotropic medications mirrors similar difficulties other patients have experienced exemplifying the “Elephant in the Room” idiom: The difficulty discontinuing psychotropic medications, including the “powerful” Risperidone, is an undesirable fact that remained unaddressed and ignored until reputable sources such as CBC and The New York Times presented this serious problem identifying the physical and emotional symptoms patients have experienced and their vain attempts to discontinue these medications only to experience failure and to have these symptoms attributed to their declining mental illness. I believe I have a legitimate complaint regarding the psychiatric care I received from 2004-2014 in that the prescribing psychiatrist and university professor had an understanding that I was physically and psychologically struggling to discontinue Risperidone and various psychotropic medications trialled when he prescribed Nabilone for pain. Prescribing a medication without obtaining informed consent and re-prescribing an ineffective medication in error only compounds the harm done by not identifying the disturbing symptoms I began to experience in 2012 when I attempted to discontinue Risperidone.
Relocating to a larger city for healthcare has revealed that I have “thin basement membrane disease”, a renal aneurysm and a grade 2 rectocele in a relatively kind, emotionally “safe” and “patient” medical environment. Food has not been an issue for several years and this fact, in isolation, is emancipating. I take less analgesic and continue to live with intermittent pain, headaches, GI concerns and hypertension coupled with numbness and tingling that began during my “journey”. I struggle at times with a misaligned circadian rhythm and my sleep quality, for the most part, is moderate and I have been advised not to work nights shifts again. I long to be able to take that satisfying and re-energizing 20 minute midday nap that has been unattainable since discontinuing psychotropic medication well over a year ago. My cognition has evolved and matured since my initial complaint to the College in February 2017 regarding the psychiatric care I received for more than a decade and I can define my concerns with greater clarity.
I recognize and even expect that my description of events may be, yet again, dismissed as a result of mental illness contributing to medical, scientific or unkind comments regarding my emotional demeanor. After all, I am a psychiatric patient and psychiatric patients are poor historians.
The issues of mechanically prescribing powerful psychotropic medications, such as Risperidone, without providing adequate medication information in a manner easily understood by patients, medical complacency in continuous prescribing of large doses of psychotropic medications without inquiring into the patient’s logic and reasoning for their non-compliance, re-prescribing ineffective psychotropic medication without referring to a patient’s medication history and not identifying and associating the onset of increased or new symptoms with psychotropic medication changes need to be addressed in a medical culture that often corrects emotional maladies with a pill.
My mental health history clearly indicates the desire to discontinue the psychotropic medication Risperidone and I was prescribed this medication without appropriate medication information. These facts coupled with experiencing the onset and continuation of very uncomfortable physical and psychological symptoms when attempting to discontinue Risperidone with insufficient support was both socially and medically undermining marking the beginning of sad and stressful chapter in my life that I look forward to closing. Resiliency should not be this difficult.
In conclusion, this journey has been one of isolation coupled with fears of being ostracized for burdening others with my concerns and linked hand-in-hand with suggestions and explicit statements that I was a burden, a waste of time, while attempting to have some of the physical and psychological symptoms I experienced from psychotropic medication changes addressed. I simply state that my journey has consisted of a series of experiences that have negatively impacted my physical and psychological well-being. I am apprehensive, yet clearly in need of returning to meaningful employment. My thoughts are more clear and I recognize I have been provided with the gift of time and the opportunity to share my concerns with you and to register these concerns with the Supreme Court of British Columbia. As mentioned previously, the tone of this letter is written calmly and is meant to be read and interpreted in this manner and I hope to maintain this demeanour when I present to the Supreme Court.
I have encountered many individuals who feel this endeavour will fail; however, the attempt has been made, the concerns addressed and the event recorded for others to follow as the inconvenient truths about psychotropic medications are revealed.
I am presently unsure of how to reestablish a life with purpose and self-worth and trust I will continue to recognize and acknowledge unexpected events as opportunities to reclaim my mental wellness in a new journey towards self-discovery.

On March 14, 2020, about 1600 mountain standard time, a Raytheon Aircraft Company Hawker 800XP, N100AG, was substantially damaged after veering off the runway and impacting a sign at the Scottsdale Airport, Scottsdale, Arizona. The pilot and co-pilot were not injured. The airplane was being operated under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 as a personal flight.
The pilot stated that the flight departed from Roger, Arkansas about 1315 with the planned destination of Scottsdale. After an uneventful flight, the pilot made a stabilized approach to runway 21. Upon landing, the airplane touched down on the runway centerline in light and variable winds. The pilot recalled that the touchdown felt normal. During the landing roll, the airplane began to veer to the right and the pilot added left rudder in an effort to correct. Despite his attempts of full left rudder deflection, the airplane continued to veer off the runway. The airplane continued off the runway surface and encountered large rocks located between the runway and taxiway. The airplane collided with runway lights and a sign puncturing the left wing and resulted in substantial damage; the engines both sustained foreign object damage from the rocks.
The pilot opined that the loss of control was a result of the nosewheel steering wheel not being aligned correctly.

2020.04.05 20:02 McDonaldsMoney Missing Robert William Fisher - FBI Top Ten Most Wanted - Triple Murder

Robert William Fisher was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1961 to William Fisher, a banker, and Jan Howell. He has two sisters with whom he attended Sahuaro High School in Tucson, Arizona. His parents divorced in 1976, when Fisher was 15 years of age. According to friends and relatives, the divorce was very turbulent and unsettling, leaving long-lasting effects on him. He reportedly spoke of it with coworkers at Mayo Clinic Hospital and once confided to an associate that his life would have been different had his mother not left the family.
Family life
Fisher, a U.S. Navy veteran, married Mary Cooper in 1987. He has worked as a surgical catheter technician, respiratory therapist, and firefighter, and is an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and fisherman. Fisher was described as a cruel and distant control freak of a father who was awkward with his children, but who tried to hold on to an image as a devoted family man. His mother-in-law, Ginny Cooper, told investigators that, "Fisher didn't socialize often with family because of a fear of getting too close to people and losing them."
Fisher's mother told investigators that she had been a "yes-sir" wife who did not stand up to her husband. She added that she saw similar dynamics early in her son's marriage to Mary and that she had spoken to her daughter-in-law about her concerns. A close friend of Fisher stated that his family bore a striking resemblance to that of his childhood.
Marital troubles
Fisher had been an active member of the Scottsdale Baptist Church's men's ministry, but unlike Mary, he had begun to withdraw from its activities a few months prior to the murders. In 1998, the Fishers went to their church's senior pastor for marital counseling. Fisher told coworkers about a one-night affair with a prostitute he met in a massage parlor. He fretted that Mary would find out that it was the cause of a urinary tract infection that left him ill for several days in December 2000.
Fisher told a hunting mate that he was renewing his commitment to his faith and marriage because he "could not live without his family", possibly hinting that he would consider suicide over divorce. According to psychologists, an intense fear of loss is not unusual for an individual traumatized by divorce while an adolescent. In the weeks before her death, Mary told several friends that she was going to divorce Fisher. A neighbor reported hearing a loud argument on April 9, at 10:30pm, approximately ten hours before their house blew up in an explosion.
Triple Homicide and arson
On the morning of April 10, 2001, Mary was shot in the back of the head and her children's throats were slashed from ear to ear in the hours before their house exploded at 8:42 am. Firefighters were immediately alerted to the explosion, which was strong enough to collapse the front brick wall and rattle the frames of neighboring houses for one-half mile (800 m) in all directions. Firefighters kept the 20-foot-high (6 m) blaze from spreading to other homes. A series of smaller secondary explosions, believed to be caused by either rifle ammunition or paint cans, forced them to keep their distance. One suffered minor injuries to his leg when he lost his balance and fell near the burning house.
The gas line from the back of the house's furnace had been pulled out in an attempt to conceal evidence of the homicides. The accumulating gas was later ignited by a candle that Fisher had allegedly lit, waiting for the gas to accumulate and descend to the flame hours after being lit. This delayed fuse would have given Fisher an approximate ten hour head start in his successful attempt to evade law enforcement. The burned bodies of a woman and two children were found lying in bed[6] in the remains of the burnt out house. They were identified as Mary (age 38), and her two children, Brittney (age 12) and Bobby (age 10). Investigators theorized that Fisher murdered his family because he felt threatened by Mary's intent to divorce him, and didn't want his children to go through what he did as a child.
Investigation
Fisher, who disappeared at the time of the murders, was named as an official (and to date, only) person of interest in the case on April 14, 2001, when Arizona Department of Public Safety officers were instructed in a statewide bulletin to arrest him. On April 20, the last physical evidence of Fisher's whereabouts surfaced, when police found Mary's Toyota 4Runner and their dog, Blue, in Tonto National Forest, near the town of Young, Arizona, a hundred miles north of Scottsdale. Although police searched the area around where the car was found, it has been alleged that they did not search the nearby network of caves sufficiently. Several professional cavers have suggested that Fisher used these as a hiding place, before either escaping, killing himself or dying from low oxygen levels.
On July 19, a state arrest warrant was issued in Phoenix, charging Fisher with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of arson. Subsequently, he was declared a fugitive, and a federal arrest warrant was issued by the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, charging him with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. On June 29, 2002, Fisher was named by the FBI as the 475th fugitive to be placed on the Ten Most Wanted list. He was also on the America's Most Wanted "Dirty Dozen" list of the show's most notorious fugitives, and was profiled on The Hunt with John Walsh. The FBI offers a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to his capture. As of April 2003, FBI had received "hundreds and hundreds of leads." However, all reported sightings of Fisher have been inconclusive or false.
In February 2004, an individual with a striking physical resemblance to Fisher was arrested in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Fingerprints eventually confirmed that he was not Fisher. He was held by Canadian police for approximately one week until a family member correctly identified him. The FBI alerted local law enforcement in 2012 that Fisher may be living in the Payson area in Gila County, Arizona. In October 2014, police raided a house in Commerce City, Colorado after receiving a tip that Fisher was hiding there. Despite arresting two occupants, they did not find any sign of Fisher.
Fisher is considered armed and extremely dangerous and has ties to Florida and New Mexico. There has been speculation that he has committed suicide or started a new life under an assumed identity. FBI agent Caldwell's sense of his personality and habits is that he is "arrogant. He's cocky. He's a know-it-all...and a loner." He chews tobacco and favors the Copenhagen brand, sometimes walks in an odd, erect manner with his chest out due to back pain, and is an avid hunter and fisherman.
In April 2016, FBI officials and Scottsdale police displayed new age-enhanced photos of Fisher during a news conference on the fifteenth anniversary of the murders.
